Uncharted 4 a sales dud post release?

Seems to be just from seeing this, the Libertalia Collector's Edition is selling for $69.99 marked down from $119.99 and the Special Edition is only $49.99 marked down from $79.99, and the standard edition is already marked down to $49.99 as well, it hasn't even been two months yet...

Seems like the sales were extremely front loaded and then it fell off a cliff, are fire sales uncharted territory for this franchise?

It's as if you can almost hear it screaming out "PLEASE BUY ME!"

It's a Dud all round, one of the most dissapointing games ever.

Unless it has Nintendo's name on the box, mainstream special editions dropping in price after release is normal.

All games tend to discount around such times to pick up sales as most are gonna happen closest to launch,

Hell, I saw the Witcher 3 heavily discounted multiple time before Christmas and even The Taken King.

But yeah, it was kind of like "OMG perfect scores!" and "OMG the sales!", and then that's it.

Anyhow, I see sales down the line but I expect a game like this to sell at or near full price for quite a while.

IIRC, most software sales are heavily front loaded. Like 80%+ of all LTD are in the first weeks or similar. Could be mistaken, but that's what I've heard, and that's why they only need DRM to succeed in that time to force the impatient to drop a dime, then the protection becomes essentially moot afterwards.

I have no idea whether the game is actually selling well or not but it's my hope that if it's not developers will think twice about going the cinematic route and maybe give us good gameplay focussed games instead. I hate the direction they are going in with this game and so many others like it. But if the masses are buying it and enjoying it then we will be getting more and I will be out of luck.

The game was okay....I got tired of bridges collapsing as I walk over them.

Uncharted games in general are all about the campaign, say what you want about the multi player but that's why people buy it.

My local Craigslist and eBay has tons of used copies for sale. I'm not going to lie I usually buy games like this used, and resell them myself. Beat the game and no reason to go back, why keep it?

Yea, it seems like as soon as Doom dropped the world immediately forgot Uncharted existed. Must have not been a very memorable game

Not surprising, movie games have some of the worst retention/legs. Just rent that crap, you will finish well before the return date.

It doesn't help that Overwatch came out and destroyed it, 7million sales/users in week 1 and a long lasting/supported title - completely the opposite.

I see that Uncharted 4 hit 2.7 million sales in its first week, but I wonder if it hit 3 million sales in the following months.

I can't see any announcements for it. I can only assume that the game had no legs.

Amazon can be an outlier but yeah the game seems to be impressive sales wise for what it is. Its always there on amazon only beaten by new hourly bundles announcement before resuming as best amongst the released games. Something about the game is most haters know and answer there own question about it. Basically is not a type of game you would expect to see sale that well yet it does. On the other hand its probably right to assume that sony overshot its sales projections they simply had to (we have seen similar patterns from other games). I was expecting to see this thread go up when it drop from this month NPD beaten by multiplatform releases but maintain a status of best selling on single platform ps4.

Its just the usual SW entertainment where TC is one of the lead actors. The other team was throwing this shit out to his team so he's gotta throw this back at them. The thread is a question though and for that he might be right lol. Hope to hear the total tally for it where this thread could be come the usual buthurt thread as SW likes to call them.

the campaign is a solid 8/10 but that multiplayer is complete bullshit trash and disrespectful to the fans of the Uncharted multiplayer.

ND deserves to be humbled if they think they gave us a good product with U4. What they did and are currently handling the multplayer is a slap to the face to fans like me.

Not sure about how the game is selling, but there is a crap load of the Limited Edition UC4 consoles and the UC4 controllers sitting in the stores around here.

So Uncharted 4 special edition is $10 cheaper two months after release....

Thats what happens with single player games. At retail, I don't think I've seen any game bar COD stay at full price a few months after launch. It doesn't matter what console its on.

Its one of those games you buy, play and finish over a weekend then never touch again because there is no reason to. So many used copies at local Gamestops already, it's pretty crazy.

Still seems to be doing fine in the charts, while Doom is 40% off on steam sale

GTA V has held its value for years. But other than that and Nintendo games almost everything drops in price fast.

GTA5 has a pretty active multiplayer even now.

I love how everyone that hates on Uncharted has either played it through or bought it Day One. If you don't like a game why do you play it? Especially considering that by now everyone is familair with the uncharted series so if you didn't like the first ones you obviously wouldn't be interested in Uncharted 4. It's truly pathetic and hypocritical.

The only thing that was a dud was Halo 5 a game so bad it single handedly destroyed the Xbox brand.

UC4 is nothing near Essential or 10/10 , it's just a good adventure which you can beat in 2 days

stands to reason only Ps4 owners where stoked for uncharted whereas Gamers who have been gaming since the original doom where stoked about the Reboot.

Uncharted 4' sales dropped 78% in it's second week whereas Doom sales only dropped 35% in it's second week
