UK Charts : God of War sales still #1 for 4 weeks in a row

For the fourth consecutive week in a row, God of War is No.1 (despite a 30% dip in sales week-on-week).

It means that the game has surpassed The Last of Us: Remastered as the Sony-published PS4 game with the most consecutive No.1s. It's quite a specific feat, admittedly, and it's not exactly faced any real competition. But the game has been quite a sizeable hit for Sony, and it's comfortably the second biggest new game released this year behind Far Cry 5.

Still, to see two SP games, FC5 and GOW succeed, makes me happy, if anything, it means people get tired of multiplayer and competitive scene.

And even at ten million copies sold it'll never make as much as gta online, fortnite, or overwatch.

Not surprising. The game was excellent.

I love the Xbox fanboys here that try to deny reality as if that will change reality.

Microsoft have made some extraordinary bad descisions which have led to this point, suddenly the exclusives don't matter because they have a Faux-Kbox but their empty promises on exclusives for the 960p-Box used to matter.

All I can say is RIP cloud and RIP distributed AI and all the other promises that they failed to deliver just as their exclusives do.

These releases are to appease owners. The switch is still pounding away at PS4 hardware sales.

I realized fairly quickly the game's combat isn't about skill. It's mostly a test of endurance and patience with few skill or tactics involved. This is why playing on the higher difficulties is a waste of time.

If you have a friend who is a Naughty Dog fan, you may wish to check up on them! Ensure that they are doing okay through these difficult times!

@Bread_or_Decide: your answer makes no sense, exclusives are not meant to compete with GTA or fortnite, they exist to give people a reason to choose your platform over the competition, besides Switch is one year old, while ps4 is almost 5.

@Bread_or_Decide: Why do you think Switch is selling so well? Exclusives. I agree if GoW came out in 2014, PS4 numbers would be even higher. But it'll sell consoles, even at this point. Why would I buy an Xbox to play fortnite, when I could play it and GoW on one console? Plus no online charges for fortnite on PS4, unlike Xbox. This game is made to be a system seller... Get over it.

Doing the unthinkable and jumping straight to a second playthrough. The dialogue takes on a literal double-meaning your second time around, because of what was revealed at the end. Makes me enjoy the game that much more, and I'm enjoying the higher difficulty :)

God of War 4 is a masterpiece!

It made me rethink what Athena says to him. Pretending to be stuff he's not. She included father in there. Which now makes me wonder if Atreus is actually his son. Or she could've just said that to troll him.

Dat lem damage control. Who cares if it makes as much money as GTA? I didn’t know games had to sell like GTA to be considered successes now. Why would Sony even want it to sell like GTA when they already have GTA on their platform? PS4 is the only system you can play stellar titles like GTA and GOW on and that’s all the marketing they need. It’s why they are at 80 million units sold and Xbone is struggling at 30 million because MS can’t make the same claim.

My backlog is so ridiculous that I will have to wait awhile before playing this game. Thoroughly enjoying Persona 5 atm and still have to play Shadow Of The Colossus. Well deserved. Sony has really hit a homerun with the PS4.
