[QUOTE="AmazingGaming"][QUOTE="EzekyleAbadon"]Now, I don't have a PS3 so I wouldn't know much about trophies but I think that platinums alone are enough to beat achievements, especially when the 100% completion is screwed up by DLC I will never get...EzekyleAbadon
Same deal for Trophies I'm afraid.

Oh, I thought that the platinum was rewarded upon completion of the main trophies... Well then, they are absolutely the same as far as I am concerned

You get platinum for the main trophies. But the trophy section won't say 100% for games with DLC trophies. You do get the platinum without the DLC though.

Both are worthless and meaningless. And beating a video game isn't "achieving" anything, it's only entertaining. I find the whole thing mildly insulting, like a commercial that tries to make me tear up sentimentally.

I enjoy both as they allow me to get the most out of my games.

Trophies. Because it shows how many games you completed. (Platinum trophies) Also, it breaks it down into categories, like how many hard ones you get (gold) medium (silver) and bronze (easy). It also has a level system. sethman410
achievements also list how many games you 100%, they are basically teh same thing,

Well since my trophy count is much higher than my achievement score, I'll say trophies.

Achievements. The sounds they make when you get them is addicting itself. Plus they are better implemented. I would probably like trophies more if I had gotten my PS3 before my 360. I do like the idea of the Platinum trophy though

They're practically the same thing.

Slashkice

I agree with this. Tbh, I get into a game's storyline a lot more than trophies and the like.

Immersion >>> trophies/achievements.

Playing alot of 360 lately i find achievements are alot less satisfying that trophies. the "bliing" nice sounds so much more rewarding, the achievement noice would be awesome if it didnt sound everytime someone signs in.

Having struggled mindlessly to obtain both, I prefer the general organization of the trophy system than just handing out points like MS does.

And I second this statement that seconds that statement.

But seriously, I don't care. They're the same thing. I guess if someone put a gun to my head I'd say trophies because the list never changes and that helps my OCD, but whatever. So I guess I'm seconding the above.

Trophies. For the exclusives on each console, getting all the trophies is harder than getting all the achievements. Developers think PS3 games have more skill me thinks.

I really like the platinums...but I also like skipping over crappy online achievements and still getting over 1000 with quality dlc. Both have their ups and downs imo, and both are equally addicting.

Steam achievements. They have no point value or difficulty marker (not that all bronze/silver/gold trophies are equal), but you can click a button and compare your achievement progress to everyone else's and see the percentage of other players who have it. I think that's a better way to determine if an achievement is actually hard or not (or stupidly grindy).

They are pretty much the same thing with a few very small differences. I like the idea of a Platinum trophy for 100% completion, but Achievements have the advantage of being in every single game.

But at the end of the day, they are essentially the same thing. I reckon I find trophies more addictive though (probably because my trophy count is way higher than my gamerscore :P)
