Well, she is supposed to be younger, younger than the very first Lara Croft in the first Tomb Raider. So, you would expect a younger looking face. While the last couple of Lara Croft in the last couple of Tomb Raider Legend - Underworld she looks more matured but still young. (See Below)
Tomb Raider Legend Maxed on PC @1440x900 HD. I personally liked the Legend look but given that she is supposed to look much younger, it's understandable how they would make her look somewhat different.
Get rid of the horrible competitive multiplayer and all it's trophies then I'll call it the definitive version. Probably wouldn't buy it for full price though.
LOL @Crystal Dynamics trying so hard to re-establish Lara Crofts relevance. We can beat the next gen Uncharted to the market now can we, sure lets release a game we already released again on next gen cause people liked our slightly upgraded uncharted clone. We wanna make Lara face of games again, give her hair shampoo TressFX and a cold killer habbit, that should do it. They are really confused in that studio, thats for sure
I really am quite curious as to how the new Tomb Raider is an Uncharted clone. They play nothing alike, their game structure is nothing alike. Yes Tomb Raider goes for a more cinematic approach, but even that is different to how Uncharted approaches it. The only thing that's really alike in them, is that their main characters are hunting for mysteries. So can you please enlighten me as to how it is a "clone"?
@Cranler: what is wrong with right eye? She's not facing the camera straight on so if your issue is how it doesn't look like the left than you need a better understanding of perspective.

What this really illustrates is how much the old models were lacking in realism. There was a great deal of anatomical disproportion, namely the eyes and lips. So it wasn't just wanting to make Lara younger in their new take on the origin story. They took this new beginning as an opportunity to make Lara much more human than she's ever been before. It's not just being more realistic (the new face is completely anatomically correct), she far more natural and organic in design. And on this note I think they really succeeded.
As to the differences in the copies of the game, it's basically an update on the graphics. Higher resolution, new touches like extra detail in the environments (the foliage has wind movement for example) and they added the TressFX hair feature that was already in the PC version. That may have been updated to smooth out the quirky animations, but can't verify that. And as pointed out they reworked the Lara character model, though I don't see any reason for having done that.
In any case, an updated (or overhauled engine) definitely does not justify a $60 price tag when it's still the same game with the same levels and story. Oh they did include all previously released DLC (mp maps and one sp tomb) but I sure don't support an updated version for full price.
But hey, it won't take long for the price to drop.

Loved the game, if I didnt have a strong enough pc or last gens version then I would pay for this. I have the pc version so this for me is a total rip off, like most console games.

I may just have to... I actually own it on steam but never got around to playing it. Was gonna get this to give the ps4 for some love considering its tiny library atm... sigh, we'll see.
It's a good game, it's just not worth $60 to play the same game with a few changes and some additional content. I know they are bringing it to PS4 and XB1, but that still doesn't justify the price. Within 2-3 months the game will be $20 or less on Ebay. It'll be dirt cheap on Steam before that time. Just wait if you're interested in playing it. There are other games like Thief, Drive Club, Titanfall & SP: The Stick of Truth coming out.

So you're saying that Uncharted sucks then?
It was a wannabe Uncharted clone so it doesn't necessarily means that Uncharted also sucks. Tomb Raider surely sucked compared to the direction the series was going with Underworld, trying to focus more on the adventuring by trimming the action by focusing more on the on rails platforming than the shooting and also eliminating conventional boss fights and cutscene QTE's.
@soulitane: What is up with you Tomb Raider defense force, its almost as if you guys are licking Crystal Dynamics in the sack or something. You dont need two pair of glasses to see the core structure of the game is basicly Uncharted with a tweak. Jeez, this was a game i followed all through there development series with hype and self denial untill i eventually got to play the turd. The heck is you lot going on about them playing nothing alike. If we compare COD to BF4, we can see there is a difference, but when you compare COD n Homefront, we all knew what was going on there. This is the same case here, Crystal Dynamics can layer RPG, metroidvania, among many other turd over the core design of their game, it still wont mask or over the Unchartedness in it and thats not because people calling em out on it are being smellies, they just saying the truth. That is also further emphasized by the fact that the core design of the former games didnt play nothing like Uncharted and there was room for distinction between both, but with this rebooth, i mean cmon....
They made the graphics prettier and included the DLC
In what way? That gif I saw earlier looked like they changed the face.

But according to the dev: "put in to custom craft it for the new platforms; with the new additions for the aesthetic, the physics, the particles, the lighting--taking advantage of next-gen features"
