For Nintendo-only gamers out there who complain about the lack of 3rd party titles on Nintendo systems this is your chance to buy this masterpiece and show 3rd parties you will support their games.

Now as for me I already have the game so I won't be double dipping. Only Rockstar games are worthy of that honor. But this is still one of the greatest games this gen and probably of all time so Nintendo-only gamers you guys really owe it to yourselves to go out and support it.

It’s going to be extremely downgraded and look like trash.

It is going to be like FF15 pocket edition or look like minecraft.

It's a test alright... testing people's pain threshold. TW3 on NS will be painful!

im thinking switch needs to have a data disc and game disc just like rdr2. still, massive downgrade is inevitable.

I already have this for PS4, and yes, this is obviously going to be downgraded. However, I'm still going to bite the bullet and wind up purchasing this because of the ease of portability--need something to play during those bus rides to/from work, and I enjoyed it the first time (Still haven't found time to play the new game plus mode or the DLC because I'm hardly home). The only question is whether or not it's going to be a download, or a physical cartridge.

Having already played it on XB1, I don't think I'll be buying it again. But I agree, for those who haven't played it, you owe it to yourself to buy it.

Sure it'll be massively downgraded, but that's the price you pay for portability. Personally, I'd be fine with playing it on Switch if I hadn't already.

Physical ver comes with 32gb cartridge so I guess the additional download wont be big. I think on ps4 its around 40gb with all dlc

That's not too bad. I got a 400gb SD Micro card so far, but I got a LOT of games on it. Gonna need to upgrade the card or archive some of the older games I don't play as much to free up space eventually. Leaning toward the physical cartridge.

Well we know it'll be a big downgrade from the other versions, but still being able to play it in bed is rather nice. Plus I'm told there's quite a lot of reading to be done in The Witcher 3, so should be a bit easier on a handheld.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this one.

I've already got a gaming PC, so I've already experienced The Witcher 3 the way it was meant to be played.

If this is stable, I might consider buying it for the portability.

The only version I wouldn't consider is the PS4 version, since why would I play a gimped version of the game with no upside?

I don't think it's a test. MK11, Skyrim, Dark Souls, Doom, and a few other 3rd party titles have sold well on Switch already. It will be nice if Witcher 3 performs well because it's a great game and more people should play it.

Really tempted to buy it if it's a decent port. Would be a triple dip for me, got the base game on PS4 and Xbox with all the expansions :P

I have a powerful pc and a powerful laptop, no need to get overcharged for a vastly inferior version.

But i guess it's a nice option if you haven't got a PC yet. Or an XboxOne. Or An Xbox One S, Or a Playstation 4, or a Playstation 4 Pro.

If you support the poorest quality ports, you’ll continually get the poorest raw-power hardware from Nintendo.

Personally, I don’t care about the Switch or Witcher titles.

This is the type of game I'd rather play on my TV. If I ever buy the game, it will be the PS4 version.

3rd party indies are doing great on the Switch, btw.

It's like they want to hold onto the lie so badly no matter how much the Switch has succeeded in third party support.

MK11 and Doom Eternal, day one launch of brand new current gen games. That's such a win for Nintendo it can't be said enough.

Meanwhile PC has always allowed for a minimum spec level for all games. To me that's the Switch version. Graphics are nice but after 10 minutes I forget all about them.

I know right.......

It's about the resolution, visuals and probably performance. PS4 version will look better on a 4k tv. Will be cheaper too.

Having all the systems, I start to prefer certain games on certain ones. I prefer third part on my xbox one because it's the console hooked up to my biggest tv.

PS4 i stick to exclusives, it gets the smaller of the TV's and the bedroom for Netflix.

And switch is for exclusives and if the third party game is available on all three, I prefer it on switch for the portability and to free up the TV in the house.

They have so little to complain about...nobody cares about graphics.

Most would hate it too if you get a vastly downgraded port but needs to pay $60 for the "portable" experience.

@dzimm: Well, I guess it depends on the individual... I'd probably consider going from an XB1 X/high-end PC version to the Switch version, a pretty big "downgrade" - the res and graphics are much lower.

But like I said, that's the trade off for it being portable. But if I hadn't played TW3 before, I'd have no problem playing it on Switch. Having it on the go would be great.

I saw a video comparison between what was shown in the Switch release trailer and the PS4, and honestly, the differences weren't as dramatic as you might expect. The texture detail is lower, of course, and the lighting has a different aesthetic, but it's only really obvious when comparing the two versions side by side. Just seeing the Switch version on its own looks pretty good.

There's input lag though. The trade off here becomes low price and input lag with decent quality vs a dramatic downgrade in visual quality and full price with no input lag.

The differences between MK11 on PS4/XB1 and NS are anything but slight. They are qualitative differences -- a 'generational' leap. I'd defend characterizing that as "massive."

GTA IV ran like horseshit, GTA V was passable. Of course the next gen/PC versions blew it away. Still, after playing it at launch on PS3 and eventually "double dipping" on the PS4. I actually found that I couldn't even be arsed to play through the whole thing again... improvements or not.

The port cannot fail. Critics will give it high scores because they love to support Nintendo.

And all Switch owners will buy it.

Personally I've never liked W3. Its dull. Pretty, sure, but painfully dull.

Will be interesting to see how gamers react to the censureship tho! In the original W3, there is lot of nudity. Heck, Ciri even goes to sauna with a flock of naked women in it. We will not see that in the Switch port. No siree!

GTA V was passable as long as you did exactly what the game wanted you to do, if you deviated from the path just a little... like take a bazooka out to the streets and start causing chaos, than the framerate would dip horribly, even worse when the cops arrived.

So the one thing I liked doing in GTA, I wasn't able to do in GTA V, because Rockstar was greedy and knew that people would get a superior version one day.

I'll never forget that.
