A Kinect game featuring popular characters like Elmo and Cookie Monster, Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster includes a variety of stories that have kids getting moving while learning

What's the Story?
Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster is divided into six individual stories, each of which take between 30 and 40 minutes to play. They feature a number of different set-ups, all of which help teach kids the basic tenements of self-esteem and cooperation.

How Does It Use Kinect?
The game is controlled exclusively with the Kinect camera. Kids flip through the story book by swiping their arm to the side and open a specific story by "pulling the pages apart." Within the stories, there are various motions to complete, that include jumping up and down, catching fireflies with your hands, and petting creatures.

Is There Multiplayer?
Yes. Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster can be played cooperatively by two people standing side by side.

How's It Looking?
Based on what we've seen so far, we're pretty impressed with Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster. The game responds well to all of the motions and should be a great game for kids and parents to play together

I'm glad it's not Skyward Sword. Cookie Monster laughs in the face of such mediocrity.

I'm pretty sure this game will be better than Skyward Sword.

AE at best, the game will be fun for a while for kids before they pick up their MW2 again.

I know people will assume I'm just fanboy trolling, but AAA is my hype. Whether it gets that or not... who can say. But personally, if I had a 360/Kinect, this would be the one game this year that would be a DEFINITE purchase for me. Multiplats would get on PS3. Gears, I might would rent. But this one, definite buy. Further, people always ask "if PS3 could get ONE 360 exclusive (orvice versa) which would you want it to be," my answer would be This game. From the whole gen so far. This would be my one must-have 360 exclusive. I'm pretty sure I'd wind up playing it with my 2 year old pretty much every single day. The only characters she likes as much as Disney Proncesses are Elmo and Cookie Monster.

For SW purposes, if it does get AAAE, it will be hilarious in every possible way, from every possible side.

Sesame Strret is much better for young children, and also manages to not be completly nausea-inducingly terrible for adults.

GOTY... for my 3 year-old niece. For me it's just a AAAE.

When's this game come out? Where's the review? WHERE'S THE REVIEW COUNTDOWN CLOCK FOR THIS AAAAE HYPED GAME?!?!

Edit: I see the game came out Tuesday... and has an 81 on MC with 5 reviews so far. 8.5 from Game Informer. Come on, Lems, where's the excitement? Seriously, is the only person on SW who actually wants this game me?

8.5 in GI, 80s from OXM, OXM UK, and Games Radar, but the 7/10 from Eurogamer has bumped the MC down below 80. I am disappoint.

IGN review is in, 8.5... bringing the MC back up to 80. First it was an 81, then dropped to 79, then back up to 80... The suspense is killing me... When will GS post a review? Will it get a 10? Will it flop?

I'm guessing if they review it as a product in and of itself, it will get AAE. Children will love it for what it is.

If they review as a traditional game critic, it shouldn't score that well. Eurogamer touched upon this in that it was incredibly charming, but still incredibly shallow as a gameplay experience.

SecretPolice, maybe you should change the title of the thread now? I mean, it was kinda funny, but at this point, you could probably go ahead and indicate that this is Once Upon a Monster in the thread title, and maybe put that AAAAE hype, or 80 MC, or 8.5 IGN or something, like folk normally do in the hype thread titles as reviews start coming in before the GS review. Might attract more traffic (and a more realistic poll result). Funny as it would be, I don't really want to hear the bashing that some of the more...extreme... cows will do, or the b****ing from the Lems about said bashing.
