I'm not a fan of the PS3 but I have to admit it has the most ambitious exclusives coming out this year. I'm not saying that they'll deliver on this ambition or even that these games will be any good, but the stuff being talked about on these games sounds amazing.

Resistance 2 is a sequel to an okish game but it has an unrivalled featureset. The graphics look almost as good as killzone 2 and it has 2 campaigns + 60 player squad based multiplayer with character classes, perks, dynamic objectives and huge maps.

Little Big Planet will probably suck when it gets released due to a lack of content but it could potentially last you forever. The level/item creation mechanic, the sharing stuff and the amazing graphics are incredibly unique and could eventually make it one of the greatest games ever made.

No, LBP will be great right out of the box. I mean have you seen some of the story levels they've shown? They look like tons of fun. Then, by the time I'm done playing around with the sp I can move onto mp which should be equally awesome :D.

But ontopic: Yes I think the PS3 has the most "Ambitious" line-up, and IMO the best :D

I don't know if it has the most , but I would agree that Resistance 2 and LBP are sounding pretty ambitious to me as well as MGS4.

I think you're being very optimistic in praising the levell design of some unknown developers. This isn't Nintendo we're talking about

besides which i think that the primar aim of the developers is to get people involved in the creation mechanic

Don't forget MGS4 it'll redefine what Epic really means :PEddie-Vedder

really?

I haven't seen much to suggest that

It's new on consoles though. Home is also innovative on consoles, if it were on pc's nobody would care.

Playstation 3 has always been more ambitious.. Wifi,BLu-ray, Home..etc.

I wouldn't say they are the most ambitious exclusives this year in gaming, spore is ambitious and little big planet in comparison is interesting but the whole player limit for resistance 2 being ambitious...

Starsiege tribes back in 1998 did 128 players for pete sake!

I agree with TC, but I really want to see an ambitious sandbox in the way of Mass Effect designed from the ground up with 50GB space constraint and not relying on lossless audio or duplicated data to fill up the disc but instead, filling it up with unique content.

Imagine a Ultimate Mass Effect with instead of dozens of worlds and different enemies, hundreds or thousands of worlds and different enemies, that's ambitious, but would probably take too much money and time. I'd settle for an official support for community made content like Neverwinter Nights.

BTW: How many concurrent players online does WoW have?

Not really, Gears 2 is merely refining Gears 1. Resistance 2 is attempting to invigorate itself to an AAA franchise.

True.

The PS2 had DVD before the PC

The PS3 had bluray before the PC

The PS3 uses the cell before any PC does

PS3 and Wii had motion controls before PC does

All conoles allows instant play from games, PC requires installations

Consoles allow you to lie back lazily on your sofa and play games, PC does not

indeed the PS3 is ambitious !!!

Spore? Starcraft? Maybe Dragon Age? uhhh...PC winsdkhw

Starcraft 2 is hardly ambitious and it's highly doubtful that any of those games will make it in 2008

You're joking right? Spore is pretty much deadlocked to release this year. Heck, the creature creator comes out next month.

Anyways, after seeing the latest spore video I'd say it has more than enough ambition to trump all the games on the PS3.

Cows hyping more games? They haven't learned their lesson, I'll remind them:

In order of flop:
RFOM: Flop
MotorStorm: Flop
Lair: Flop
Heavenly Sword: Flop
Ratchet and Clank: Flop
Haze: Flop

Next flops:
R2
LBP
Killzone 2
MGS4

KodiakGTS

If I'm trying to give an example of a game that is 100% guaranteed to stick to its release date I wouldn't use Spore or Strarcraft 2.

I wouldn't call Ressitance 2 'ambitious', but I certainly would LBP.Verge_6

in terms of the featureset and graphical fidelity it's highly ambitious

The PS2 had DVD before the PC

LIES

The PS3 had bluray before the PC

LIES

The PS3 uses the cell before any PC does

PC Already has better processors

PS3 and Wii had motion controls before PC does

LIES

All conoles allows instant play from games, PC requires installations

Consoles allow you to lie back lazily on your sofa and play games, PC does not
