It's nice to see some accessibility options and trophy support being added in for older titles but even for a brand new launch of a service this list is pretty bare and has some weird choices for games. PS3 games are going to be streaming only and I bet you won't even be able to play titles like Resistance 3 and Motorstorm Apocalypse online. Is this really the best they can do? The PS1 and PS2 lists are extremely lacking in major titles and overall variety.

Its a good meme to laugh and point fingers at. I hope it dies. I want large youtubers to begin shitting on this thing.

No sniper elite 5?

When looking at that list compared to GamePass, the only thing missing is the day one first-party releases and the new Ratchet and Clank.

I'm not jumping out of my seat to sign up for this service or anything, as I already have all of the first-party PS5 releases thus far, but I don't necessarily see anything here compared to the competition that qualifies this as "laughable."

And before the "you're just a Sony fanboy" responses start, I have my Series X with the 1TB expansion drive almost completely filled with GamePass games.

My problem isn't even so much with the PS5/PS4 list. It's the super limited PS1/PS2/PS3 lists. So many great games missing.

You can argue that they'll update them every month with more and more games but this is definitely not enough to make me jump in day one. My PS1 and PS3 collection sitting on my shelf will be fine to play on my actual PS3 console for now.

Based on that list, why signed up day 1?

For the legacy titles, it's likely a combination of trickling out games gradually to keep things fresh and licensing complications for titles Sony doesn't own. Some of the most significant PS1 exclusives are soon going to be owned by Microsoft, which I imagine is a major contributing factor why we're not seeing Crash Bandicoot and Spyro.

One example: you're a PS5 owner that doesn't want to spend $70 on first party titles, especially titles you're only going to play one time.

The PS5 and PS4 list looks pretty solid. Not sure how well the streaming will work for the PS3 selection. Very unfortunate that that is the only way to play them. There’s a couple of good games in the PS2 and PS1 list but it is quite mediocre overall. Very lousy that they are going with the PAL versions of those games as well. Quite a baffling choice there.

The licensed soundtracks is going to prevent legacy racing titles from appearing on this service, the same way it prevents Forza and Project Gotham titles from getting backwards compatibility on Xbox. Licensing songs in those quantities is pricey, and I can't fathom that companies see a financial benefit of re-upping on those licensing deals for legacy racing titles.

It's a bummer, but racing games will continue getting the shaft for re-releases like this.

For Syphon Filter, I imagine they're gauging how much interest there is in the first one before putting in the time to port the others.

I'm not familiar enough with Twisted Metal to know what the music situation was like. Did it have an original soundtrack or did it use licensed songs?

@IMAHAPYHIPPO: The Jet Moto trilogy was all original music as well. Some of the tracks were even shared with the Twisted Metal games because SingleTrac was the original developer of both Jet Moto and Twisted Metal.

I think you missed the "making fun of" portion of the image. This is entertaining the cows that mention Halo in every single thread in existence here on System Wars. It's even more funny when they bring up Steam and avoid the Xbox most played standings. Just need to see if they would bite with my image. They did. 😎

The game list is ok, but hardly solid. A new gamer just starting on PS wouldn't have anything to complain about though.

Out of PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Sony has been absolutely pathetic is supporting it's legacy titles. It's pretty sad. That PS3, PS2 and ps1 list is pathetic. I know Cows used to always says BC was stupid and they only want to play new games... But PS1 PS2 had epic catalogues, I'd argue the best of any Sony generation systems. Why not push the classics? I legit sold my PS2 in a lot for $300 on ebay. 2nd PS2 broke and I gave up and sold my collection. Series X I can pop SSX 3 disc in and it's playing in 4k/60fps... MS nailed it, Sony is pissing on it's legacy.

Decent first party line-up for people who recently bought or have yet to get a PS5 to play catch-up, but I imagine the die-hard Sony fanboys who've had it since launch and already bought every compelling exclusive might not be as satisfied with that.

Ummmm, unlike steam there’s not much of a varied choice on Xbox, and it looks to be the norm until 2023.

There are like a total of less than 100 games on these lists I've been seeing and SONY has said on multiple occasions that there will be over 700 games on the service. I'm not saying that I'll subscribe to the service because I don't know yet, and if I do it will be mostly for the timed demos, but trophies added to older games is cool and this list is less than 1/7th of the total list. It might be the biggest hitters (or what they expect to be), but why only show such a small portion of what is going to be on offer so close to release?

@kadin_kai: it does say that you get the ghosts of Tsushima director's cut which was ps5 only I think. Not sure about the rest though nothings really been said about that.
