The PlayStation E3 Press Conference Thread | Persona 5, And Other Things Too

What?

A very good question. You see, absolutely nothing has actually been leaked from this conference. It could be anything. Especially now that we know that PS4 NEO isn't going to be shown off today, things become much murkier. That said, some reasonable guesses would include:

• Gran Turismo Sport
• The Last Guardian
• Horizon: Zero Dawn
• Gravity Rush 2
• PlayStation VR
• Destiny: Rise of Iron
• Detroit: Become Human
• Kingdom Hearts 3
• Red Dead 3 (or some other big Rockstar announcement)
• Agent
• Persona 5
• Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
• Crash Bandicoot Skylander Announcement
• God of War 4

And anything and everything else- as I said, all bets are off at this point. Who knows what Sony have planned?

I give you major props for saying MS's conference was great, and even standing up to the salty cows. Also I hope Persona 5 is shown for you. I think Sony needs to drop some bombs and surprises because their upcoming lineup is pretty bad imo.

I can't believe I have to stay up until 3am to watch this...

You should add Agent to that list char. There have been insiders saying there will be a PS4 exclusive from R* in addition to the RDR 2 announcement.

Outside of a new xbox which could easily be surpassed by a playstation 5, the xbox conference was yawn been there, done that. Oh look, its the same 4 franchises we have been putting out for 10 years plus a few games that are ALL going to PC. Playstation conference will easily destroy with game lineup and when lems break their bank account with a 4k tv and new 400-500$ console only 4 years after playing over 400-500 bucks, sony will make a more powerful console again

I doubt that there is anything Sony can do that will top what MS did today. That kind of announcement is rare. But it will be fun to see some more awkward stage demos and more PlayStation stats that killed the pacing of the last 2 E3 conferences.

Well they can announce Last Guardian being available for download as of today.

Can confirm, that unlike many things at GS, it's working perfectly. Very stable and nive video quality (+ livechat as per the norm).

Sony should be able to win this pretty easily. Geoff is also doing post-shows for both MS and Sony, 30 min for MS, 90 min for Sony. Sony'll have a really content heavy E3.

@charizard1605: Honestly, why do you need to put persona 5 in the title when we all know it's going to be a very small (as far as I'm concern irrelevant) part of the conference.

Confirming the NeO but not brave enough to show it at E3 was confusing at first but then when MS announced the most powerful console ever Project Scorpio, it all made sense why Sony hid the NeO from sight in fear and embarrassment. I still give Sony a chance to at least say something and acknowledge the NeO at E3 but I know they will just try to change the subject by showing a bunch of TBD TBA NeO games.

I'm ready to see what they show off, I hope to see some new God of War.

It's an upgrade, so it's not a slim model. The PS4 is already slim.

Clearly this E3's about hardware, not games. So MS wins by default.

Will be fun for them to announce Neo, the slower, weaker brethren to Scorpio lol. Nah they will probably not mention it. Looking forward to see wtf God Of War 4 will be. So many rumours, so many flowers, so many pants.

If they show Shenmue 3 and Final Fantasy 7 I'll be happy. Honestly though they probably need to show neo though. Destiny 2 would be awesome to show though.

Hope there are more games showing than VR stuff. Either way, they are pretty set.

If they give an actual release date for The Last Guardian I will be so happy. A new Syphon Filter would be the absofuckinglutely splendid.

Neo is the "slim" version of the PS4. Think of Xbone S. They probably have a monster behind a next gen console.

LOL, there's Persona 5, then there's everything else, kind of feel that way at times.

There's lots to look forward to there, just the stuff we know is coming should be exciting, like Persona 5, The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2, Tomorrow's Children, No Man's Sky, etc, but it's those new announcements I'm looking forward to, maybe I'll get to hear of something being announced, like maybe a new Siren game, or how about a HD Patapon collection or a brand new console entry, maybe new proper Fatal Frame game or a remaster collection, maybe a teaser for Kojima's upcoming game, maybe a teaser for the upcoming Silent Hills game under a new developer. Seeing more from those games we're looking forward to is always nice, but nothing tops that OMFG!! reaction to some really exciting news.

I'll answer that. No. They don't. PSVR works fine without a system boost.

I don't even think Sony has to release the 4.5 near the power of Scorpio.. they have 40+mil in market share and could PS2-it (weaker console getting all the games because of the sheer numbers). Assuming the market doesn't jump ship to the more powerful console, but the PS4 has been doing really well this gen even during droughts so who knows..? They can afford to wait it out to see if people adopt Scorpio, and if its not many its not like devs are going to jump off a large install base to release games for a small userbase and more expensive development system.

Thoughts arent really coming out well but I think I made my point. Microsoft announced a lot of stuff that appeals to me though so now its hard not to justify owning all 3 consoles -_-

The standard Xbox One will outsell the Scorpio, never mind the PS4. It's a premium product.

Can anyone tell me why Sony confirmed the NeO but it will be a NO show at E3? Is that report even accurate or Sony is just pulling a rope-a-dope? Anyone got credible reasons? I really hope they at least acknowledge its existence on stage, if not, that would be an embarrassment.

I wonder if we will get Resident Evil 7 announced during Sony's presser?

Everything we've seen from PSVR til now is on current consoles. So... no?

Could be they want to devote more time to it than they'd have the opportunity to do in a crowded e3 presser. Current console is also still selling pretty well, so it could be they simply do not want to kill their sales with the announcement for as long as possible. MS announcing Scorpio a year and a half early will make anyone considering an XBone before then wary. They are also likely to put focus on the PSVR's upcoming launch, so it's possible they didn't want to spend that much time on hardware instead of games.

The rumors felt pretty sure Neo was heading for a 2016 release, but with Scorpio so far off and PSVR also launching this year I wonder if there hasn't been a push to move it into a different release window. I imagine devs would be happier with the idea of supporting ".5" level machines as well as current consoles if they could start doing the extra work for both at the same time.
