No drama, The Last of Us will win one, it is a pretty much a lock. It would have won a ton more awards had it not ran into the final season of Succession. I find it easily better than the game, so much so, I would not play it anymore. It is also part of the announcement banner, making it a virtual lock. Hopefully, Fallout can win one next year, but I can see the Peabodies waiting on that show.

We are OFK may be a lock as well as in is in the banner. Game media completely missed this game and it shows.

And Pentiment, way to go Obsidian. Easily Obsidian's best game after Fallout New Vegas. It's win here is far less assured, but hopefully it will. Also, games media missed this, and shows how much they suck at judging narrative.

I've been meaning to pick up Pentiment.

Bella Ramsey did a great job as Ellie IMO. But it did took more episodes to get where her character truly shines though. Just wish she would curse more than her game counterpart. Bella came a very long way since Game of Thrones.

And sorry but I don't agree TLOU is the greatest story in all video games. Lets not kid ourselves. But I will say the gameplay for both games are very grounded and you had to think on how you should proceed, crafting, and stealth gameplay was very on point. That I can say why I like TLOU games.

@Mozelleple112: tlou is a fantastic video game story, one of the best, no question about it. whether it's the best is obviously subjective and impossible to categorically state, that's probably why you're getting the grief you're getting. i know where you're coming from re: bella ramsey's casting as ellie, yes she has a face that looks like she's been hit by a frying pan, so not a good like-for-like fit, but she plays the part very well, so her casting wasn't in any way a detractor from the show, imo of course

Pentiment is undoubtedly a better story than tlou.

But I don't think tlou had a bad story, just a very simple and straight to the point narrative that serves the game well. Being emotionally exploitative and cheap made it impactful too. There's plenty of more interesting stories and narratives in gaming, but taking in consideration that tlou is a pop blockbuster, and how utter trash much of the writing in the AAA space is, I get why it's such a classic.

But in all honesty, this is like the allegory of the man that spent so much time with monkeys that he considered himself a genius.

We want a videogame Ellie that's a girl, not a literal person that doesn't even identify as a female (I believe it is a they/them thing).

I've always wished for a son, but playing The Last of Us some 11 years ago made me realise having a daughter wouldn't be the end of the world after all.

Now if my daughter ended up as Ellie from the TV show she'd get tossed off a cliff at birth.

Pentiment rightfully wasn't even nominated for best narrative, so you can add God of War Ragnarök (the game that undoubtably had the best narrative in 2022), the original God of War and many other games to that list as well.

And no... There is nothing Marvel about Last of Us 1-2 , Metal Gear Solid 1-4, God of War, Red Dead 2, Bloodborne, BG3, or Elden Ring.

The games I mentioned are the Godfather, Shawshank Redemption, Interstellar, Goodfellas, Dark Knight, Good Bad and Ugly of videogames.

The Endgame / Marvel equivalent of videogames are: Fortnite, COD, FIFA, Ass Creed, Far Cry.

No I don't think Marvel movies are a masterpiece. And no, I don't enjoy any of those games except COD cause that's all my non-gamer friends will play (that and FIFA but I refuse FIFA).
