The Last Guardan is a masterpiece.

The world is amazing. Graphics are amazing. Trico is so lovable. The weight of your characters movement is great.

I'd say it's closer to ICO than it is SOC, but definitely has both influences.

If you don't have a PS4 this game is worth the price of admission.

They have to remain consistent in the old that claims their exclusive games (which don't exist) are better than anything on PS4s and that nothing on the system looks good to them exept the D-level games like Crackdown which MS has been stringing xbox fans along with for the last couple of years.

Amazing game and certainly worth the SUPERB 9/10 rating. Trico is my favorite companion in a game, such a glorious beat and so damn well animated. I don't know how they've done it but Trico's animations are as fluid as you'd see in a cutscene while this is all in game. Funny how i wasn't even excited for the game in the past 9 years

Runs great on ps4 pro. How far are you?

You need to note that in your posts, most people are running this on the PlayStation 4 which hardly ever hits 30 FPS and stays closer to 25 most of the time. The only consistent experience with this game is the PlayStation 4 Pro at 1080p, the performance state of this release is unacceptable.

About 40 minutes in where you use that mirror thing on the wooden gate, I'm not going to have real time to play until this weekend.

I agree it sucks they didn't optimize it better for normal ps4's. Hopefully some patching can fix it.

Got it for the Pro, It's not a looker but runs well. I just played it for a bit, first I must finish Gears 4. As most people I was skeptical but after trying it I'm somewhat excited to play it.

The only thing that pisses me off about this game is that it's gonna be another PS game with sup par gameplay.

It looks amazing to me. When you get out into the bigger area it shines.

Regardless of the game content, it truly baffles me how someone could objectively rate a game like this a 9 or above with some serious and glaringly obvious issues.

@n64dd: Sony and masterpieces, the only such combination this generation. I don't know how to place the WiiU.

@n64dd: Went to Target and got my copy since 3 of my friends told me it's worth the pick up.

I haven't even open it yet due to I'm still trying to unpack my stuff after moving to my new house and I'll let you know what I think about the game around Saturday or Sunday.

Only problem I am running into is the camera in tight spaces. Makes some of the indoor puzzles a little harder than they should be. Other than that I am loving it. I am playing 1080p mode on the Pro though

I've never played it, but there's reports that on the OG PS4 it drops to 10fps. And it has clunky controls and a shit camera. If all that's true, it's not a masterpiece.

It's on my Christmas list.

The atmosphere is great and it's a good puzzle/platformer but the controls suck major dick like SotC. Camera issues are a bit fixed but still is a pain to ass to deal with.

I played on the base PS4 and the framerate was poor. The drop to sub 20 fps is very noticeable, and the graphics doesn't even justify the framerate. UC4 looks miles better and still ran better than TLG.

All in all, the performance is the only thing that's keeping me from playing more. Other than that, it's a good game.

How's the ending? Worth it?

The lack of quality exclusives are driving LeMS insane just look above for proof.

This game is neither a masterpiece or a 9. It does some things exceptionally well while failing hard in other areas.

Yeah.... The PS4 needs more action-adventure games with sharp controls like BB and R&C. We need more of those games across the board, really.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure Last Guardian is a great game, it just does not look like the kinda game I would want to sit down and play.

And before someone calls me a lemming for saying that, I should note that I owned a PS2 back in the day, and I never got into Ico or Shadow of Colossus.

So, even if I had gotten a PS4, I likely would have still not bothered with the game.

Still, I hope people do enjoy it.

Not getting it.

The poor performance on the PS4 has pushed me away from the game. I am not interested in playing a game that looks aged and runs poorly for $60.

I agree but then again more reviewers, paid and user reviewers, more people think the other Team Ico games are better games, if the score on MetaCritic is any indication of this. TLG isn't anywhere near the quality of the other Team Ico games. I wish they remastered those two other games instead.

I get that the term is thrown around way too loosely, often times on games that actually have shit for gameplay, but there have been streaks of brilliance post-gen 6.

Zelda could really take some notes of those spectacular environmental puzzles. It felt like dark souls, but based on puzzles. No real sign of handholding, you had to figure out yourself completely
