This was one of the hyped Game Pass games of the season. Looks like it's getting mixed reviews.. You gonna check this out, SW?

Wasn’t really expecting anything Earth shattering but it did look interesting from what I’ve seen on it. Seems decent enough. Will check it out at least.
Looks interesting, cool art direction. Downloading now, it's only ~12 GB
Already finished the game.
...aaand? How was it? Other than short.
"The Gunk" is gunk what a terrible name for a product i can't think of a worse name
Really? That's your criticism?
What about....Elder Scrolls? Might as well call it "Old Paper".
Names are names, at least when I hear "The Gunk" in reference to a game I think "The gunk? Hmmm I wonder if the game is about stopping this gunk". And it is.
Gunk is bad, it's dirty. I want to clean the gunk away in my life. Therefore if a game is called that, it interests me.
Another bland multiplatform game.
Is it bland because it is multiplatform?
@mrbojangles25: It was just OK. They didn't push the core mechanic and the length of it is satisfactory because of that. It controls well enough but they were unable to make it as satisfying as Luigi's Mansion. The sci-fi elements are good but it wasn't pushed in an interesting way. I just wished they did more. I am not a fan of force walk, taking control of the camera for points of interest and Chapter 7.
@vfighter: Maybe they mean because it's cross gen? But it's an Xbox console exclusive. They have weird justification for it tho...
To realize the full potential of The Gunk we would need real power. And so, we decided to talk to Microsoft and ask about this new hardware they were tinkering with. And now, dear reader… here we are: The Gunk will come out exclusively on Xbox Series X and Xbox One. Link
They need the power of the Xbone? What? How much did they get paid to say that? Who would ever say that in their right mind without getting paid?
It is not like this is the first time a developer states nonsense about a console. Did you forget the God-tier SSD?
Been shilling on The Gunk for a while now and I hope it's as good as it looks. I watched about 30-45 minutes so far and it seems like good fun. The developers also have a good track record with their Steamworld games and they haven't really made anything bad yet. I feel pretty confident about this one so I'm going in full force.
@Pedro: SSD speed can be measured... but what possible performance advantage can be measured on the Xbox One? It's just blatantly BS
It doesn't matter. Both were nonsensical. You attempt to make one less nonsensical is equally nonsensical.
@Pedro: Or how the cloud was going to revolutionize Crackdown 3 lol.
That is another one.
When i hear GUNK, i usually think of Pedro. Dunno, maybe this is a toxic thing to say, but he reminds me of gunk. It is what it is.
About what I expected, another decent game for gp, nothing more nothing less! Can’t all be big AAA games like halo and FH!
Best wait for the official GS score before writing off 71 out of 100 games,a 8 or 9 here destroys most ps games.
Let that sink in.
I've played it for an hour or so (thanks Xbox gamepass) and will agree with the metacritic score, looks great on the series X
I never understood how someone is triggered just because you say so. Kinda feels like the one busting his balls to call someone triggered several times with different picture edits is the triggered one, no?
Pedro speaks nothing but the truth, and gets a lot of hate from butthurt fanboys for it. xD It's really fucking funny. Wish I had that ability.
On topic, will check the game out. Looks pretty fun. And if it's short as well, what the heck.
Just like The Medium and The Ascent yet another game will never be mentioned by Lems again.
Lmao, so true. All three were hyped by the Gamepass fanboys.
The Ascent is awesome actually. One of my favourite games of the year.
The Medium is medium. Nothing great or terrible about it.
The Gunk so far is cool. If you get some satisfaction from games where you have to clear stuff, this is like a more evolved, story based sci-fi version of that. But I have only played the first hour or so, I've enjoyed the atmosphere and the gameplay loop but it might get worse (or go nowhere) from here on. But a 70/75 seems appropriate.

Seems like you and your goons are confusing gamers looking forward to a game to hyping a game. Learn the difference frustrated one. 😎

Pedro doing rounds damage controlling it seems 🤣🤣
PSA...
A single playthrough of The Gunk will take you about 6-8 hours to complete. The game is mostly quite linear, though there are some optional paths that you can go down in order to find more crafting resources on your travels. You'll want to do this, most likely, as crafting all of the game's 15 upgrades will require you to find just about every last collectible resource on the alien planet across the game's eight chapters.
There are four kinds of crafting elements, which you can learn more about in our beginner's guide for The Gunk. There are no alternate endings as best we can tell, nor any side missions. This is a rather straightforward action-platformer with some light combat elements. More than anything, what The Gunk does well is in its setting and music.
The alien planet has a rich history that you'll unravel throughout the game's story as you push back against the game's titular pollutant extraordinaire. New characters will emerge on your journey, while other familiar faces will be seen in new ways in this intimate story of friendship among the stars.
