Ah, totally forgot about Fallout 3, dammit.
So many games, man! It's hard to think of five straight on the fly, lol. :P

Work Time Fun
And others.
Work Time Fun might not be the best game of this generation, but it is the most must have. Must most have. Most have must.
* Mass Effect trilogy (is is one continuous story)

-The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (an incredible Zelda adventure that also proves the merits of motion control gaming)
-Rayman Origins (Perhaps the best platformer this gen)
-Super Mario Galaxy 2 (a testiment to the human imagination and creativity)
-Punch-Out!! (it's Punch-Out people! It's all about quick reflexes, puzzle solving, patern recognition and mastery... In other words, it's pure gaming fun)

Words have never been more true on SW.Damn. Might as well lock this thread, mods, since I really don't think any other list can have any weight considering that they'd have to follow this beaut right here.1. Too Human
2. Lair
3. Gun
4. Haze
5. Call of duty black ops declassified

sora16perfect

Super Mario Galaxy 2

Yes it does.
There ya go.
Perfect.
Red Dead Redemption
Batman: Arkham City
Fallout 3 and New Vegas
Mass Effect (Series)
Portal 2
runner up:
L.A. Noire
Dead Space 2
Bioshock
Portal 2
Red Dead Redemption
Arkham City
Deus Ex : HR
I'm having an extra one....Enslaved...Odyssey to the West(cos nobody bought it and its great!!)
It's hard to pick a single game from a series
Looks like I'm the only one not ignorant enough to list Mass Effect as a must play.
Stalker: Shadow of Cernobyl - the perfect atmospheric open world FPS
Nights into Dreams HD - this is one awesome game that i recently began playing due to its release on the PC. Shows a glimpse of what encompassed SEGA's creativity and passion during the Saturn days, beautiful in 1080p.
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer - because there's no story that's better, must have to experience, the only game that comes close to Planescape Torment.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 - the perfect 3D platformer
Legend of Grimrock - the perfect 1st person Dungeon Crawler, ridiculously underrated, and ridiculously awesome.
METAL GEAR SOLID 4 - one of the most memorable send-offs to one of the most iconic video game characters.
Uncharted 2
Uncharted 3
Heavy Rain
MotorStorm 2
Since it is about opinion, here I go:
1. Disgaea 4
2. Disgaea 3
3. ZHP
4. Mugen Souls
5. The world ends with you
(the list might change if I remember more games, I played over 1000 games, it's hard to remember them all)
Advance Wars DS
Demon's or Dark Souls, doesn't matter
SMG 1 or 2, doesn't matter
Halo 3
XCOM: Enemy Unknown
(first and only rule is everyone has their own opinons and none are wrong since these are the games they thought were important) If someone had never played any of the games this gen which five games would you say are the must haves to be played? It does not have to be from a certian genre or even from different genres. It does not have to necessarily be 5 games that represent the entire gen either but just the ones that are the must have. For me it is -
Mass Effect 3
Fallout 3
Red Dead Redemption
Gears of War
Skyrim
CanYouDiglt
I concur and vote these the most mindless, repetitive and outright boring games for the ADHD generation...
Oh, I just read the title...
If Journey isn't on there then I can't respect your list. All you've got there is big budget, 200 man dev team, multiple years in the making, 60 hour games. There's a LOT more to gaming than just size and scale you know.(first and only rule is everyone has their own opinons and none are wrong since these are the games they thought were important) If someone had never played any of the games this gen which five games would you say are the must haves to be played? It does not have to be from a certian genre or even from different genres. It does not have to necessarily be 5 games that represent the entire gen either but just the ones that are the must have. For me it is -
Mass Effect 3
Fallout 3
Red Dead Redemption
Gears of War
Skyrim
CanYouDiglt
1. Red Dead Redemption
2. Grand Theft Auto IV: Trilogy (it really is best with the two expansions)
3. Fallout 3
4. The Orange Box
5. Mass Effect trilogy
You can also use Uncharted 2, Bioshock or Call of Duty 4 in place of the Mass Effect trilogy if you wish since I had a hard time really picking number 5 and I feel like those games are certainly "must have" titles.I also wish I could justify putting Spec Ops: The Line in there, but it's a bit too flawed, so I'll just mention it here and tell you all to experience that amazing thing.
