The battle for 2023 (final round)!

Zelda>Starfield>>>Spider-Man 2.

not really hyped for any of those... I guess i'm most intrigued by Starfield of the three.

Zelda will probably be the best but I don't own a switch and I can't bring myself to purchase such dated hardware at this point.

I had a lot of interest into Starfield, but it has slowed down. No interest into Zelda and no interest x100 for a superhero game. So i guess Starfield, but i want Stalker 2 the most.

None are on my list of anticipated games.🤷🏽‍♂️

They won't. If they do, this shit will stick with dice/ea forever. In the future, if/when they release another failure, and promise that the game will improve, if they abandon bf2042 the second what they were obigated to release is released, people will be reminding them this exact scenario, and no PR damage control will help. My best guess is that there's gonna be season 6 or 7. After that, they will pretty much do what they did with BF5 "we're now focusing all our efforts into the next entry to the battlefield series blah blah blah, so we will be abandoning support for bf2042." I think by the end of next year, whichever season its gonna be, its where they stop support and the game goes into maintenance mode.

@hardwenzen: I prefer they just tell it like it is after season 4. Something along the lines of... "Hey, we fucked up. We realize that 2042 is shit and not the game you guys wanted. Instead of wasting resources on a dead game, we are going to focus on making an actual BF game that you guys want."

Similar to what they did with Anthem. Anthem could not be salvaged and 2042 is the same.

I'm always amazed how nostalgia influences people's decisions on games like Zelda. Take Breath of the Wild, an average, at best, somewhat empty open world game with the same boring, recycled story for the past 30 years, but becuase it features link and Zelda, somehow it's magnificent? Remove link and Zelda and replace them with some unknown IPs and that game would score maybe a 6 or 7 out of ten.

I have a feeling the top games of 2023 will take us by surprise.

They will never admit anything. And there's literally no chance that they put the game on the maintenance mode as soon as season 4 is released. It would be simply too easy for all the social media to pick it up, and the shitstorm would be a Category 5.

Can't the same be said about Bethesda games? People are hyped about Starfield just based on nostalgia they had for Skyrim and Fallout 3.

Zelda. Not too interested in Spiderman and Todd Howard hasn't involved in making anything worthwhile in over a decade.

Since starfield is made by the game dev team that makes 12 fps shooters, im pretty sure that game is going to flop.

If it's a Tie breaker round, why is spiderman 2 in the options?

I guess you could make the argument that Starfield is something new, but it's a valid criticism. It dies look like fallout. I guarantee starfield is going to be disappointing.

Of the three that is easily Starfield, but there are other games I am looking forward to a lot more than any of those.

Voted Starfield as it's the most interesting new IP game from Bethesda and I'm always cool with those guys (don't care for Todd himself, just Bethesda team) so that's saying something. Spider-Man 2 & Tears of the Kingdom are both really sequels so another reason Starfield gets the vote.

Not hype for both Spider-Man 2 or Tears of the kingdom but I'll still play'em whenever they get released in 2023.

Legend Of Zelda, regardless of quality will have game journos and man children doing disturbing soyjak faces.

I said Starfield in the first thread and I stand by it. We haven't seen any gameplay of Tears of the Kingdom, so I'm reluctant to say that it's my most anticipated game. I probably will buy it when it comes out; I just think Starfield will be better.

Zelda is almost guaranteed to be good.

My hype for Starfield took a dive after the last presentation, but I've never played a Zelda game and don't have a Switch, and don't have a PS5 to play Spiderman, so Starfield is the only option.

I can't tell if the 3 of you are being silly to TC but this is...the final round meaning the poll did exactly its job with 1st place, 2nd place & 3rd place in that order is why Spider-Man 2 was on the poll for this final round. If TC wanted just 2 contenders it would have been so. This was meant to be a fun race.

@davillain: Well it’s my understanding that a “tie breaker round” as the TC called it in the OP is meant to you know, break a tie. 🤷‍♂️

Out of those, Spider-Man 2 since I enjoyed the first one, and it washed out the bad taste in my mouth left from Arkham Knight. Starfield, I haven't seen any recent footage of, but at least it's in space, so that's always a plus to me. IDGAF about BotW2, or whatever they're calling it now, after how much I disliked the first one.
