on a separate note anyone played rage 2? didn't play the first, but had a mate recommend the 2nd to me. i'm not convinced but i fancy a new shooter.

@ghosts4ever sounds like one you might be able to guide me on?

It has good shooting and thats it. its just typical open world game but more blander. driving also suck.

Rage 1 was better.

should ask @warmblur friend, He liked it alot and call it better than Doom Eternal.

Main thing that seems to differentiate it was the vehicle stuff. But even that's kind of boring, the actual Mad Max game, though repetitive as all hell had pretty fun driving combat.

Need to boot that game up again at some point. Get bored 6 hours in, and forget it again.

So, I had the grossest customer of the year so far. A mom and two kids:

1. No Masks (might as well carry a gun, loaded and with no safeties while we're in this pandemic)

2. Kids were already munching on their produce

3. The son was climbing on top of the nearby ice cream freezer just so the mom could

I had to shut down and disinfect my entire register and that freezer's door.

Unskippable end-game credits are so obnoxious. Who watches those? I appreciate the work of a game I enjoy, but I also bought the game. I did my part. No one should be obligated to go through that. If people really cared they would look it up. I just do something else while they scroll, sometimes forgetting about it. Coming back to a "would you like to save the game now?....you fucker!" message.

@SOedipus: Can't say bothers me much. Most cases pretty much done with it and walk away to get a piss or grub.

The unskipple start ups though. Uhhh.

The recent Doom 64 release, this is the shit get every-time it starts up.

Can thankfully manually go into the folder to edit it so almost a minute of time isn't wasted on a loop.

I always watch the end game credits myself. I’ll even very carefully set the controller down because I don’t want to accidentally skip them. I do love it when they put in some things during the credit roll. Showing pics of moments during a game or some kind of scenic view is cool ie. Mega Man, Zelda, Mario, etc. usually have some nice credit rolls. Also definitely love ones like Bayonetta or Devil May Cry games that put in the ability to fight enemies while the credits roll. Anyway I just enjoy taking the time to reflect on my time spent with the game while the credits roll.

@uninspiredcup: If it's a game where the story is an aspect that is focused on, I get it. Moviegame or whatever. But in a game like Dragon's Crown where it's pretty much just arcade style slash'em-up, I don't. I just want to get back into it.

That start-up is ridiculous. It wouldn't have taken me long to edit that too.

That's deep. I know what you mean. Haven't done that in a long time though. I'm just anxious to jump right into it again. Do you do the same for movies or tv-shows, or if you replay a game?

@SOedipus: Yeah I kind of do the same thing with movies especially when I see them in a theatre. Not so much with TV shows though, probably because most of the ones I usually watch there’s really no variation in credits from episode to episode. I do typically watch the credit rolls even when I played the game before. I don’t replay the very lengthy games too often so the short arcade type games that I replay have substantially shorter credits as well so I don’t really mind the five minutes or less that it takes for the credits. I’ve always just found the credit roll in games to be a pretty satisfying way to cap off the game overall.

@Archangel3371: how you getting on with control? i just fired it up last night. last time i played i was moaning that i found the story a bit odd and difficult to follow, but to be fair to the game it literally starts by saying fair warning this is going to be weirder than usual lol. i'm going to try and pay more attention this time, read every note you pick up etc.

those puppets on the tv show you come across early on are f*cked up.

@Macutchi: Finished the main game a few days ago and am playing through the dlc The Foundation. I really enjoyed the game and yeah it’s definitely a pretty weird story for sure and those puppet shows you find are creepy.

I was reading every bit of info on stuff you find but there’s a lot of that in this game and after awhile I just stopped reading all the notes. I may go and read some later on though.

yeah it's one of those things that you start off with the best of intentions but then give up because it becomes too laborious. far too many games rely on it as a narrative device. it's forgivable when it's "bonus" supplementary lore but when it's integral to the plot in terms of building a genuine understanding of what's happening, it's less so.

how long did the campaign take you?

Who is a fan of the Turrican games? I just ordered Turrican Flashback on the Switch (btw, same price as the PS4 version). I never played them before, but I was a childhood fan of it's developer. Hint...

"Rascals" should on paper be a fucking terrible episode, but I can't help but love it.

Gotta laugh at O'brien. He was always given the "O'brien must suffer" plotline in DS9, and here he gets one of the most creepy, awkward scenes in the series.

Very impressive Steam review of Nioh 2.

this game is real garbage and♥♥♥♥♥♥,, its basically chinese dark soils which is freaking lame because the chinese are irelevant in gaming and in general. i think if anyone has any self respect they should treat themselves with an actual good game by the white folks like Fallout 4 (Todd Howard game), which came out in 2013 but looks better , plays better , better weapons (like guns, pistols, shotgunm etc) , and has better modding scene than this .

Yea. I like Wrath Of Khan, but objectively do think Undiscovery Country is better imo, closer to what Star Trek is about and a great send off for the original crew.

First Contact pretty overrated. Voyage Home, pretty great light-comedy take. Most of the others meh.

Granted. They use "bad guy with super-ship" trope, which every thing Star Trek 2009+, exact same shit. Man disgruntled with Star Trek has super-weapon. Bros must destroy.

But Star Trek VI executes it so well. Compelling villain. Excellent cold war premise, thematically about the future, getting old, the world changing etc.... And the action sequence itself is way, way better. Ships in space firing cannon balls. A sense of weight and cohesion.

Like, you watch that new Startrek, it's like the ships are having an epileptic fit, just shit being thrown at the screen.

Enjoying Yakuza 0 but a lot of shit I don't like about it.

It's like that boulder from Resident Evil 4 times a million. Random QTE' all over the place that can result on 1/4 your health chipped multiplied multiple times over a level. It's done more damage to the characters health than the actual fighting.

The camera is pretty bad as well, and moving civilians you can pass through but static ones act like buildings of the scenery that just stops you dead in your tracks.

In a lot of ways it feels like playing some shit from late 2001.

Do like the combat system, feels very arcade' while having a bit of depth to it. And the game balances absurdist humor with Le_Serous_Drama. It's not like a David Cage or Bioware game where everything is po-faced because this is serous mature game for mature gamers. But the story and characters still remain fairly engaging.
