Jesus, I'm scared to know what the limit of my card is. I had it at 1570mhz on the core earlier and it still didn't hit 70c.
What are your VRM temps?
I'll get back to you on that. I didn't think to check those. I was just looking for stability and the overall temp. I'll try it again and let you know.

VRM temps are key to stability. Do you even OC bro?

GPU-Z doesn't show those for me. It did with my 7870's.

Here is a shot with it at least over 1500mhz. My boost clock doesn't reflect accurately on gpu-z and precision x is slightly off (sometimes).
The difference compared to GPUZ can be anywhere from 36 to 51mhz. I would push it even more to prove it, but its kinda warm in here.
The only thing I haven't touched yet is the memory.

From what I've seen, you will hit the core limit long before you hit the thermal cap. Some cards don't have VRM temp sensors, yours evidently does not. Don't bother with the memory, its fast enough as it is. Its just more heat produced for not a lot of gain. Ever since GPU boast was brought in, your core speeds are never truly accurate like they once were. Now that the GPU speed is dependent on load and temperature it will always go up and down slightly. The only way to stop that is to use a custom BIOS that disables it, I wouldn't worry too much though. As you are you aren't getting any graphical errors then you should be fine. To be honest though, I'm more worried about your PSU.
@kitty: Hoping to get 16gb ram during black friday next week, also might treat myself to a 970 for christmas next month
Oddly enough this weekend isn't going by fast enough. I want it to be Tuesday already.
In other news, the video about the New 3DS comparison reminded me how much I want one. Despite already owning two. Having done away with 90% of my console library left me with enough change and desire to go all-out handheld.

That's what I was thinking. The card stays pretty cool. And the fans never go above 40%. I suppose I could up them and lower the temps, but I don't think it will matter.
Okay, I was wondering about it and with it being that high I didn't think I needed to bother with it. I noticed that my boost varies sometimes. Sometimes its 36 over and sometimes its 51.
I've noticed the gpu speed going up and down. It doesn't really bother me when it does, I don't notice anything changing. What's wrong with my psu exactly? its a 750 watt 80 plus bronze one. I have another that isn't opened yet.

I was planning on saving that one though for the other build I'm planning on.

Nice. Best of luck, I know if those kits drop in price, they will disappear fairly quick. You better act fast. Also if you do get a 970, which one are you planning to get?
I wanted the G1 Windforce. But those were extremely hard to get at the time I ordered mine.

It's a massive improvement in almost every department. Just waiting for the right game to convince me to jump aboard.
Also waiting to see if the 3DS gets region-hacked before I get Persona Q because reasons. Okay, -a-reason. >.>Two if we count avoiding New Chie. hohoho

League of Legends.
No!
My 970 laughs at video games now, laughs at them.
Totally, except AC Unity. God damn. That game is so heavy. People say it doesn't warrant the framerate, but I'm not convinced. I hope they can patch in fixes related to how they manage online functionalities that affect performance.

GPU boast is a dynamic on the fly speed adjuster basically. It will depend on that the card is doing. If the card is running a light load like an old game like CS: Source for example it won't need to ramp up its clocks but you are running a game such as DA:I then it will use everything the card has. You won't notice the speed difference because the card is now much better at balancing the load so to speak. The reason I'm questioning your PSU is that is not very good. Its not bad but its not good either. That EVGA one is a lot better.

Agreed, AC: Unity is a good game and looks fantastic. Some of the frame issues are, quite frankly, it's using a lot of resources to do what it does, it could of course be better optimised though as some of the frame rate dips seem almost random.
I think most of the problems lie with the crap consoles, people are just expecting too much of them and devs/publishers are trying desperately to make those expectations happen and final products are suffering. They are quite simply garbage and I can see this being the first console generation, since 1975, that I don't own at least one. (Technically I didn't own the family console when I was 5)
*Wakes up from long slumber* Huh? What? Oh, another new lounge, was actually not expecting this, but cool we got a new lounge anyway. :P
Think I'll stick to posting here in SW than Off-Topic, posted in Off-Topic last week for the first time in God knows how long, didn't take long to realize that place definitely just doesn't feel like its of my taste anymore.
Edit: At least for the most part.
I might make a message once in a while in OT, but only if something looks really interesting.

It has Assassin's Creed right in the title man. It's telegraphing its shittyness from a mile away.
Nu uh!

You need a smart phone to get 100% completion. Nice going Ubifail.

Yeah I hate that.
I do have a smartphone, but I stay away from ti as much as possible. :P
I'll tell you something, I'm having more fun playing a cow clicker game on my iPhone than I am for all the games that come out this year.

yea it is
Just finished watching Blazing Saddles again.
Damn, that was a ballsy film! Pretty fun too! I don't think it would be made with today's overly PC society. The first 10 minutes would make SJWs rage like they never raged before XD
Yeah that film would be impossible to make today. I'm surprised it still gets played on (cable) television.
Great movie though
