I would guess thats around £500. I paid £560 for 780Ti. You want the best, you have to pay for the best.

@clyde46: I think that 560 you spent on a gtx 780 is something like $914 in US dollars :/

I'd imagine that 4gb GDDR5 would be more than a 780?

I also pay %20 VAT on top of the original price and given the low exchange rate for the $v£. Not sure what the exchange rate was last year when I bought. I think without VAT it would of cost me £448.

Yes, the 780 and the TI only have 3GB of VRAM but there were a few 6GB models of the 780 floating around at one point.

Crazy. makes me think how long P5 is gonna be.

Probably the same haha.

The core Persona 3 took me about ~75 hours too. Though, I pretty much blitzed the end of the dungeon in that one.

Spent about 10 hours on the Answer Expansion for Persona 3, but gave up halfway since it was just a dungeon crawl and fuse fest with no S.Links. So I just YouTubed the ending for it.

What? So 880 won't exist you mean?

They announced a week ago that they're skipping the 800 series and going straight to 900 and they'll be launching mid September.

15 characters at level 99 doesn't sound too bad. Unsure about benched characters, but back-line characters get full XP even if they aren't switched in, so you could bring the weakest to high-level areas and toughen them up in no time.

Shit you've never played PS1? Wow. Here's a nice list of some amazing gamez from my old collection from A-Z son:

  • 40 Winks (must have)
  • Bugs & Taz: Time Busters
  • Bugs Bunny: Lost in time
  • Blast Radius
  • Choboco Racing
  • Colin McRae 1
  • Crash Bandicoot 1,2,3 (must have)
  • Crash Team Racing (must have)
  • Croc 1,2
  • Dino Crisis 1,2 (must have)
  • Disruptor (must have)
  • Driver (must have)
  • Einhander
  • FF VI,VII (must have)
  • G-Darius (must have imo)
  • Gran Turismo 1,2
  • GTA 1,2
  • Hogs Of War
  • Any Mega Man X games
  • Medievil 1,2 (must have)
  • Metal Slug X
  • Moto Racer
  • Need For Speed 3
  • Pac-Man World 3D (it's fun, okay)
  • Pandemonium (must have or collection not complete)
  • Rayman (Just a must)
  • Ray-Storm
  • Resident Evil 1,2,3 (must have)
  • Ridge Racer
  • Road Rash
  • R-Type Delta
  • Rugrats - Search for Riptar (again, fun as hell when I was a kid, probably not that good if I take nostalgia away)
  • Silent Hill (must have)
  • Skullmonkeys (must have)
  • Soul Calibur
  • Spyro 1,2,3 (must have)
  • Tekken 1,2,3 (must have)
  • The Adventures Of Lomax (must have 2D platformer imo)
  • Time Crisis
  • Tomb Raider 1,2,3 (must have)
  • Tony Hawk 1,2,3
  • Twisted Metal 2-4 (one is shit imo)
  • V-Rally

These are some of my faves. The must haves really are must haves. Really good games. I'm missing classics, but that's just my old collection.

Looking at that PSX list brings back so much memories.

Holy shite. That's the first time I've seen the game Raystorm mentioned in ages. Almost forgot about that game. I was actually trying to remember that PSX game that the recent Astebreed game that released on Steam reminded me of, but the name completely escaped me. It was Raystorm.

Missing some key PSX games:

Ape Escape
Wipeout 3
Chrono Cross (abit overrated, but was still enjoyable)
Syndicate Wars
Fear Effect
Soul Reaver
Colony Wars
XCOM: TFTD
Trap Gunner
Threads of Fate
Suikoden 2 (doubt you'll be able to find this, at least at an affordable price. The used copy I sold a couple years ago is still the pricest game I've sold on eBay)

There are other great games too, but the others have been rereleased in some form. Like Castlevania: SOTN, Vagrant Story or Valkyrie Profile

Also, You're probably thinking Soul Blade or the original Soul Edge. Soul Calibur was the Dreamcast game. :P

So still working my way through Final Fantasy IX, on Disc 3 and I actually just got the airship and can use that to fly around (really want a new Final Fantasy with airship travel again).

I really love the game as a whole, and most of the elements, but man is the game suffering from a very formulaic approach. It's weird. Get to a new city after leveling up, the party splits, you go search for them, each one was their own ATE, you watch, then you do the things you need to do to bring them all together. Dungeon crawl, go across the overworld, rinse and repeat. I know a lot of games follow a formula, but it's really weird for a lengthy RPG to do so; couple that with the slow combat and it's quite the chore to get through.

Anyone else have this problem with Final Fantasy IX?

Well, as stated earlier, it -is- a remake of the first game. It's safe to assume you don't. :P

As for the story, it's no Trails in the Sky. In fact, the plot's probably the last reason you should play the game. What little plot there is though is backed by strong character writing with a great sense of humor and a fluid combat system, setting itself apart from most RPGs.

Agreed right? Hardcore FPS like S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Metro, Doom, are all for fucking clueless pricks. There was this one person called SNIPER4321 who actually believed that it was these very games that made gaming better. What a moron right?

please dont call my husband moron. he is so good hardcore gamer. he even care about my love of JRPGs and Anime.

Enthusiast.

Which is of course a flawed product strategy. Diminishing returns to a degree I'm just not comfortable with.

How so? Its not like Intel just canned the 1150 line.

i see scott's angle, i don't think its a flawed product strategy though.

like scott i'd be uncomfortable with the diminishing performance returns per dollar. but at the same time some people just want the best and they can afford it.

I just think enthusiast is a crazy illogical thing. I would never get 64gb of ram im my PC until it becomes some sort of standard. I'd get an 880ti, but not 4 of them. And an i5 would do just as nice as that silly priced i7 for games. If there is a difference it will be a couple of frames on games. Of course there are other CPU tasks it will perform better at, but just isn't worth the price difference from a 200 quid i5 CPU lets say. Which is the bang for your buck price range for intel CPU's imo.

You have to look at it this way. Do I need 8 cores? Do I need all those PCI lanes? Do I need all those storage options? If the answer to anyone of those is no then you don't need 2011V3. For games? Sure its a silly choice but when you are dealing with stuff like 4K video and CPU intensive workloads then 2011V3 makes a ton of sense. Its very much like the Titan. A poor choice just for gaming as the 780Ti is about £400 cheaper and does a better job of things but for everything else the Titan is king. Its a workstation grade card at consumer level pricing. Sure its not Quadro but it still is better than using a Geforce card. The same goes for the 2011V3 range. Its for people who need those extra cores and features that aren't on the 1150 line.

You can't say that its an illogical thing when its clearly not aimed at you. Up until this point if you wanted to do content creation you either suffered on the 1150 socket or you used the much older and lacking in features X79 chipset. The X99 for the prosumer, its for people who don't have the means, money or need for a high level Xeon chip.

Oh, I have played a PS One (how else would I play the likes of Tekken 3, the game to introduce me to the franchise, as well as being one of my favorites?), but I never owned any games or the console (I do own a PS2 though; two different ones as a matter of fact due to region encoding). Fear Effect 1 just happened to be my first pick up for that platform (while I order mostly GameCube games like Nightfire and Rogue Leader).

pretty sure the ROG Ares cars are always dual GPUs. So it's dual 290x GPUs in a single slot water cooled card. And they are limited quantity. It apparently has 8GB GDDR5 VRAM (and we all know how important that is) and they boast it beats the Titan Z by 33% in BF4 at 4K

Hmm, nice. But is it worth it (not so much the card itself, but the differences of this version vs the "standard" ones) or just an overpiced cash grab in a pretty case?

I'm not sure of the price but I'm sure it will be rather expensive. Unless you're an enthusiast in need of all that power, it's not worth it. I wouldn't really consider it a cash grab though

Hmm, nice. But is it worth it (not so much the card itself, but the differences of this version vs the "standard" ones) or just an overpiced cash grab in a pretty case?

Its not really worth it. Dual GPU cards are normally worse than a SLI or Crossfire setup with two cards.
