System Wars Lounge V 84: May 2021 is looking great for games

Welcome to System Wars Lounge V 84; Thanks to @davillain- and @xantufrog for letting me create my first SW lounge.

Lets talk about our favourite topic 'games' amongst other things and have tons of fun while we are at it.

May 2021 is looking great for games don't you think?

I was gonna beat you to it with "System Wars Lounge V84: i_p_daily is Banned Edition," but I thought that would make me look petty, so I decided against it.

@madrocketeer: Hmm, I kinda like that idea. Would you mind this @kazumakiryu21 I'm still taking contenders.

Someone else will have to do it, then. As I said, I don't want to look petty.

I also thought about it , or naming the lounge " Returnal Meltdown" but decided against those as it sounds as being mean lol. Then i thought about Covid vaccination , but also decided against it as many still not taken the vaccine. Then i thought May 2012 brings us awesome games as RE VIII , Mass Effect Legendary edition and many more , went with that idea lol.

Understood. Just looking for anything the user thinks its cool or whatever. Already done and thanks.

Yeah, probably for the best. These threads tend to last several months, and this is probably something we should just move on and forget about.

Yeah let's move on. I fired up Pharaoh the other day after teaching my last class. Sat out on the porch and got my fig harvesting on.

Those games are still so great

How are you playing such a old game? Emaluation?

Don't visit these stickies often, but yeah May is looking fantastic to me.

Mass Effect and Biomutant are long anticipated.

GTA V is getting a free version of Natural Vision Evolved, which is plenty of reason for me to dip my toes again into that game. Last time I beat it was on the PS3. And I wasn't a fan.

Whats GTA V Natural vision evolved? mod? will i get this free update on Epic ?

@kazumakiryu21: GoG 😎 - just works out of the box on Win 10 - at least for me. They patch a lot of their old games to ensure at least some modicum of plug and play

Ahhh! Thankfully its patched for everyone to enjoy. For life of me i never was able to run Jade Empire or Manhunt on WIN 10 last time i tried, retail versions.

@kazumakiryu21: a lot of their really old stuff - DOS games - do go the emulation route. They install the game automatically with a preconfigured dosbox, so on our end we just launch it like a modern game but it does fire up through dosbox. I'm curious now about the GoG copy of jade empire vs elsewhere - i have a copy on Origin I got for free, but have never tried it. Bet it doesn't work... But the GoG one probably does if you still have the itch

I read Steam version of JE dosen't work on WIN 10 so i didn't buy it off steam. You can try installing your origin copy and if it dosent work you can google the solution i bet some user made patch or quickfix will let you play it fine.

Yeah May is going to be a very busy month of gaming for me. I already have Resident Evil Village and Mass Effect: Legendary Edition pre-ordered. Then I just recently heard about Dragon Quest Builders 2 coming to Xbox on May 4th as well as Capcom Arcade Stadium hitting on May 25th. Then there’s the next big update hitting Monster Hunter Rise sometime in May too. Going to be crazy busy.

For May, it's gonna be:

• Days Gone PC version
• Mass Effect: Legendary Edition (PC)
• Resident Evil 8: Village (PC)

Totally hype for all of those games! By the way @xantufrog I been meaning to ask you but what type of gaming monitor do you have?

Basically GTA V looks really smoggy. Which messes up the draw distance.

It also totally revamps the lighting system at day and at night, including new stuff like screen space reflections.

Yup, should work with any version of GTA V on PC.

Gotcha. I assume you had G-sync but that's not a bad monitor you have now.

Impressive !

@davillain-: yeah it does a great job - the "AMD" freesync works better on my Nvidia card than my AMD one, funny enough. There were several games it was basically broken on the AMD card, and as soon as I upgraded to my 2070 the screen tearing vanished. I have to say the adaptivesync makes a big difference over fixed refresh

*edit* it's 75Hz - not sure why the didn't show that on their spec page there

@kazumakiryu21: Thanks man. Yeah I’m definitely going to have a blast with those games.

Do note that it does take a toll on performance.

For example I plan on playing the game at 1440p with high-medium settings in the game and in the mod. And am using a 1080ti.

If you want 4K ultra settings on both the mod and the game it could very well be you need a RTX3080

WOW , seems those with high end Pc"s will be able to utilise the GTA V mod's capability to the fullest then.

You should drop often on the Lounge , we talk about many things including games as you are aware of.

So I'm not sure why but the NG remastered collection is actually 3 separate titles on Steam. I know it's first-world problems but I somehow find this bothersome. And that title... ughhh.

Yeah, I would avoid naming the lounge after IP. It just comes off as cruel. Just my two cents. You gotta remember guys, IP is a person, too--just a really, really mean and insecure one. Let's not be like that ourselves. You don't get that mean without having been severely messed with by somebody else in life. To that end, wherever he goes I hope he does well, and eventually learns to respect people.

@davillain- you did the right thing.

Aside from that, happy new lounge, everybody! I hope your souls are shining today. :)

Like I said, he just didn't leave me no other choice. Even the previous mods were fed up with him but I just said screw it, he's been getting far too many chances, I'll just deliver the hammer. But Xantufrog said it way better then I could regarding the situation. Even I was unaware he was harassing a certain user (the name has been change to protect the innocent) who called for help and we couldn't let that slide despite we told him to stop. At least Galvatron did what Megatron couldn't:

Please've no need to explain further to us, seems all the users here are happy you got rid of the problem finally. Its peace and happy posting now for everyone in System Wars. You gave him ample oppurtunities than he deserved. Good for the banned person also, the place didn't suit him clearly and he seemed angry / unhappy here. May he find happiness if thinks over his actions. We all do mistakes , main thing is to realise it and not commit such mistakes again.

And you current system war mods of gamespot ( including Xantu and others ) are liked by all the users here, thats the main thing. And you are definately miles better than that fellow you often mention.
