System Wars are Very Young

So far the new generation of consoles have sold about 20 millions consoles worldwide according to NexGen Wars.  The last gen of consoles sold about 160 total consoles.  (115 ps2/24 xbox/21 GC) 

20/160 = .125

Assuming that this gen sells roughly the same totals as last gen, we are only 12% of the way into the consoles wars.  If this were a NFL football game, we would be only half way through the first quarter, and the score would be MS 10, Sony 3.  Or it would be MS 10, Nintendo 7.  My point is Nintendo might have all the momentum right now and MS might have the biggest marketshare, but that could easily change as the game goes on.

So dont be so sure about who is going to win this war.  This thing is very young and no one really knows how it will pan out. 

I know, the Wii will outsell 360 and PS3 combined. The price is right and parents believe N is kid safe.

I will most likely never buy a Wii but that does not blind me to the prospect that what we are probably looking at now is a race between the 360 and PS3 to see who can nail down 2nd place.
