@jcrame10: @GameboyTroy: Is that really fair? :/

This year, Nintendo are putting out the following titles on Switch that use their IPs.

Breath of the Wild - Action/Adventure

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Racing

ARMS - Fighting

Splatoon 2 - Shooter

Xenoblade 2 - RPG

Fire Emblem Warriors - Action

Mario + Rabbids - Strategy

Mario Odyssey - Platformer

I am not in contention with the diversity of the Playstation 4 either. There is more than enough versatility there too and I think that pool of games in the picture is only a sub-set of the exclusive titles available on the platform. It doesn't tell the full story.

Xenoblade 2 even though it'll have a lot of content and Fire Emblem in general are kind of niche.

To be on topic, you posted a lot of cartoony games. You can still have yourself a good time with these games though.

oh wow...Nintendo is finally doing what Playstation has been doing since day one.

Funny how my Wii U collection consists of about 10 games and 6-7 I bet are platformers.

A collection of games that are highly rated and loved the world over..... Only Days Gone has to prove it's worth...

2 new IP's in that lot too!

The Nintendo one would be all 2D sidescrollers lmao

Yep. Way too many side scrollers on the Wii U. Glad to see Nintendo is remembering 3D games again with odyssey and breath of the wild. No one thing is bad, but too much makes it seem bland. Variety is the spice of life.

Breath of the Wild and Mario Odyssey are already more ambitious than the entire Wii U catalog IMO

@jcrame10: There are many strong platformers on Wii U for sure. There is still some variety and I think the games below show that despite the quiet library the system had, there was many titles in multiple genres.

Bayonetta 2 - Action

Pikmin 3 - Strategy

Xenoblade Chronicles X - RPG

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE - RPG

Super Smash Bros. For Wii U - Fighting

Mario Kart 8 - Racing

Pokken Tournament - Fighting

The Wonderful 101 - Action

Hyrule Warriors - Action

Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate - Action RPG

Splatoon - Shooter

Well it depends what you're looking for. If you are wanting a Overpriced paper weight then go with the xb1x, but if you want something worth buying then I would get the switch. If you decide to go with the Xb1, at least you'll know that you have the most powerful paper weight ever created.

@jcrame10: 3 action games, 2 fighting games and 3 RPGs. 1 Racing and 1 strategy and 1 shooter game listed though.

I did exclude games like Star Fox, Paper Mario, Zombi U and Captain Toad as I'm not as familiar with them or I didn't think they were as successful as the other games listed here.

Breath of Wild is *in* the Wii-U catalog, so this makes no sense. Though I guess the Wii-U would have it's issues running smoothly compared to Switch, it is still a Wii-U game and in fact was probably in development before Switch was even a thing.

True, for 500 dollars you can replay a ton of old games since, you know, nothing new is coming anyway.

True, for 360 dollars you can not replay a ton of old or new games since, you know, nothing new is coming anyway.

I guess you missed Nintendo's E3 show.

Probably for the better anyway, not enough ointment in the world for that burn lol.

Figures that someone with no argument is defending a system with no games.

Funny you say no games when Microsoft showed off twice as many games as Sony did at their E3 showcase. Looks like there are plenty of games no matter the platform. But being a fanboy you are blind to the truth!

It's a handheld... what do you expect?

Still, the games on it look nice, and its a humble reminder that games don't need the latest graphics to be great (which has always been the case.. only on this basket case S*itty forum are graphics everything.)

PC gamers have always bragged about graphics because they get both, graphics and gameplay... but it just seems like this Console War with graphics completely misses the point.

anyway, as the above poster said:

I would take lower graphic PC megaton gameplay games, or nintendo excellent art-styled great gameplay games... than that sad pathetic excused of a list of dust collector play-once set of Sony games.

Not sure why being an adult means you have to prefer visually washed out greys and browns over bright colors. Nintendo games have art and color that just pops right off the screen. Most Sony first party games look depressing to me personally. This is why I have always felt that good graphics are highly subjective. To me Nintendo games have the best graphics by far. I for one like color. (I honestly feel that Ratchet and Clank games have the best graphics on Sony Systems.)
