Time to get hype for the real PS4 exclusive coming this July 2020!
Let's see if Ubisoft releasing two Assassin's Creed games alongside each other pays off this time. Unity and Rogue were kinda meh.
Sidemissions look straight out of Ass Creed.
Rescue some prisoners from a camp you'll never encounter again?
Everything else in its core gameplay looks different like night and day.
Mongols will learn to fear the Ghost? Holy shit is that cool!
Honestly, nothing too special but it looks like a solid game with franchise potential. I expect 85-88% Metacritic.
Just caught the livestream. That looked like a better Assassin's Creed: Japan than Ubisoft would have made. Beautiful.
Exploration design is kinda cool. The combat a bit of a let down for me. More on AC, Batman style not my thing. A bit too easy. They didn't really explain the bar, indicators and what not so maybe could be good. Overall is ok solid showing nothing special.
@Juub1990: Us AC gamers have been asking for AC: Feudal Japan for years and Sucker Punch at least knows how to do it right it seems. This looks better then Valhalla.
There is Valhalla gameplay footage? Even without it, it's almost a given it'll be better.
About what I expected for the open world,
They have added a few interesting elements with the wind and animals,as an open world compltionist most environments, ? Chasing and camp destroying/liberating are fine as long as it has a good storyline
Day one for me
There is Valhalla gameplay footage? Even without it, it's almost a given it'll be better.
There was SUPPOSED to have been Valhalla footage... but we got the bait and switch on that. Thanks Ubi!

why because it's not a sony exclusive? why is it a given it will be better? not saying this game will be better but to say this with out gameplay or any thing is a bald move. being a ps4 exclusive I bet this game will look better than there valhalla ps4 version.
It's official: I'm back in love with Sony again. Game looks like it was made just for me. Pre-ordered the Special Edition just now.
For those interested: better hurry because the Special and Collector's Editions are sold out on Amazon already, but Best Buy still has the SE, which is basically just a steelbook and some in game stuff.
I wish they explained what the stances do, n what’s tied to what. I’m left still asking questions about the combat. Which is a good thing, as I can see this not being pitiful in that department like ass creed, but I’d like more details. Release a demo.

Nah because Assassin's Creed at this point would need to do something markedly different to even remotely interest me. GoT is generic-shit, don't get me wrong but it has at least an interesting element here and there whereas AC is pure paint-by-the-numbers busywork trash.
I want to play with Japanese VOs so bad.
It's just a shame I don't speak Japanese, and reading subtitles the whole game through is not something I'm interested in.
So far Naruto is the only game I ever played fully in japanese.
yeah doesnot looks bad at all. not bad not bad especially compare to last of us 2.
Love the games atmosphere and music gameplay is fine nothing new there but it's a samurai game I'm fucking down.
but to say this with out gameplay or any thing is a bald move.
Pretty sure you misunderstood what he was saying tho.
@R4gn4r0k: Keep listening to Japanese and you'll speak it fluently in no time.
Lol, I remember being a kid and loving anime - started to teach myself Japenese for a couple of weeks. Then grew up and realized how worthless learning it for a foreigner it really is, especially with Japans anti-foriegn policies.
It looks like it will be a decently good game. It didn't "Wow" me, but there was nothing I hated about it either. I'm a sucker for samurai/feudal era games.
I was afraid if the game was just going to have a big ass empty open-world, QTE combat, and repetitive missions. (Assassin's Creed/far cry Ubisoft shit). Minus the open-world, I didn't see the other two.
I wish I knew if Sony was doing a PS5 version of this and whether they are doing a free upgrade from the PS4 version. The game looks amazing for sure, but I would want this on the PS5 if it were available. Not sure I want to wait, but I've waited this long, I could wait for the PS5 version. Unless they offer an upgrade that is.

Even if there was, its gonna play like Odyssey and why even ask for gameplay on Valhalla if anyone has played Odyssey? Ubi had every chance of making AC in Feudal Japan and they blew it.
I just saw the state of play for Ghost of Tsushima
Imho .. sucker punch is trying too hard to make this game feel like it's a unique experience .. but they failed .. imo
1- Marking a point on the map but instead of having a path or arrows to lead you to this point .. you follow the wind
2- you follow birds to discover secrets .. you follow foxes to get to shrines ..
Those two things are showing me that the dev is trying so hard to make people feel their game is distinguished or unique or maybe realistic .. but imho these mechanics look out of place and a bit dumb ..
3- Combat encounters are empty and don't have any weight .. focusing heavily on precision and dodging/parrying with one hit deaths .. I don't know it feels kind of boring to me .. this is done to make the game realistic? .. again it shows they are trying too hard here ..
4- stealth looks like any other game in this aspect .. nothing special ..
5- missions from what we have seen don't have anything exciting going on for them .. we have to wait and see..
All in all I'm not getting excited from what I'm seeing so far from the game because I don't see anything that makes this game stand out .. maybe I'm wrong and the final product turns out to be fantastic
Just watched a youtube video with one of the devs explaining everything. He talked me through a painfully generic open world video game with ninja types in it.
I think I'll pass.
Looks like Sucker Punch got tired of waiting for Ubisoft to do what seems the blindingly obvious, and decided to roll up their own sleeves and make a damn Assassin's Creed game set in Japan already.
Looks well-made, if not very original. Should be a pretty solid game nonetheless.
Overall I liked it! First off let's all rejoice that they showed exactly what they promised!
Both combat and stealth look very solid, but it's too early to tell for sure. Especially combat I still don't get. It looks like it's just one move and then you win. I don't get the stance-system at all. Also what will bossfight look like (they have more health I assume)? That heavy dude in the stealth demo also looked like he needed several hits (you couldn't stealth kill him in one go either). Parry and dodge?
Stealth looks familiar with borrowed elements from Assassin, Arkham and so on. But I like that style of gameplay, so I don't really have an issue with that.
The open world stuff they showed I'm less convinced by. A fox leads you to a shrine, you tap a button. Cool, how many times are we gonna do this? Picking flowers, mmm okay. Looting resources you say? Hopefully you can focus on the main path and do some of the fleshed out side missions and be ok.
Well that was underwhelming. It looked like a generic Ubisoft game. It was even downgraded like a Ubisoft game
Looks a bit different from the original showing in some ways.😉
Glad, I'm not the only one who noticed that.
The game looks more vibrant in this video I wish they stay with that color palette instead of the wash out colors in the new build.
Ghost Recon Breakpoint/Assassins Creed with Ryse:Son of Rome combat. Hopefully the gadgets will make up for the sword play combat but even if simplistic like Ryse Son of Rome, going to be a lot of fun with open world and exploring.
Looks a bit different from the original showing in some ways.😉

Yeah a bit down on the speed as well. I don't know too much pauses on the latest build. Id prefer this speed.. Its not ubisoft sony will softly get out of this lol.

Very solid points and I do agree what you are saying here. I'll admit, the stealth is poor, but then again, he's a Samurai, not a actual Ninja to say the least. Samurais were never that good in stealth. In fact, the movement and stealth felt like Horizon: Zero Dawn 2.0 but nothing ground breaking either.
Follow the wind for direction always felt the way for Samurais but yeah, they tried too hard on this mechanic and try to pass it off as something unique. Even though I'm getting both The Last of Us 2 and Ghost of Tsushima day one and if anyway ask me which PS4 exclusive I'm hype after watching this vid, I'm leaning more towards TLOU2 then GoT to be honest.
