This is a real game changer. I know System Wars is filled with gamers who will scoff at streaming, I myself prefer not using it. I don't even like to buy games digitally.
But from a business perspective its genius.
What is the biggest barrier to get people playing games and the #1 reason is cost. Especially when talking about gaming on PC. I myself have a great PC because I'm an adult with a well paying job. That was not the case when i was 16. The struggle was real to keep my PC above average.
How many people in this world cant drop $500-$600 bucks on a series x or ps5? How many people in this world cant drop $1000+ on a decent gaming PC?
I remember when Xcloud first released on Android and when i saw the next step was bringing game pass to potato PC's... that caught my ear. This is something that could explode the industry to an even bigger market and the market is already huge.
There are more phones, tablets, and Potato PC's in this world than PS5's Series X'x or RTX graphics cards.
It's not even close.
We all know MS is turning its business model to focus more on game pass.
Funny too is that you have gamers scoffing at people like myself who still prefer physical to digital.
As the internet gets better and streaming becomes more and more common. The streamers will be making fun of the players downloading and buying hard drives for their games.
I prefer physical, but the writing is on the wall. TBH i don't find any benefit to digital over streaming once the internet can handle streaming with ease. Physical will always be superior to both.
But yeah, Microsoft is going to eat Sony's lunch, Sony is working on a new machine gun bragging about it while MS is in the back figuring out how to split the atom.
