Star Citizen procedural planetside graphics and Alien enemy reveal trailer

These aren't even in 4k they sure gotten a lot better in creating biome for the planets. The detail there able to create with there technology on a large scale outstrips any other. BF1 had some amazing looking maps now imagine it at far larger scale.

What's wrong with, just for once, actually admitting that Star Citizen looks fantastic even in this early stage? We all know a game on PS4 that's even slightly good looking has you drooling like you have rabies, yet all you can do is pour scorn on anything that's not on PlayStation. Very childish indeed.

I gotta say this game looks fantastic but the question is will they make it any fun?

Slowly but surely it's getting there. What's been released to date is limited but fun for a while with the 2.6 update just around the corner they're adding updated flight mechanics and new game modes to Arena Commander (PVP and PVE fighter sim) and of course Star Marine (PVP FPS). In the alpha persistent universe you can already board and capture other ships, that's getting greatly expanded on as well.

Further down the line 3.0 will start to add more core mechanics like those shown in the video with more planets, trading and the basics for the economy.

For me the most exciting part of Star Citizen is watching it come together. I've been following it since the start.

Tonight's live stream was rather poor but the gameplay and videos they released were good.

Apparently 4 years isnt enough for them to make a competent stream that isnt full of issues.

@godspellwh: This is levels beyond in terms of graphics ahead of BF1 or any other game. It looks photorealistic,best looking game of all time. The best part major graphics systems are right now getting reworked and upgraded, so it will look even better, but right now its looks like a movie. To address your comment about PS4 titles that are praised for graphics...they are always scrutinized for the smallest imperfections here and if pictures of anything shown gameplay is always requested and no one lashes out making some butthurt and overly dramatic speech like you just did, we simply provide it because that's what we're used to doing here.

Every pic of a game that is shown here for graphics has users ask for video/gameplay of that area and nothing is ever said of those requests. If anything is childish it's your moronic response.

Regardless of that, it was a nicely done trailer. I liked how they portrayed them to be a threat without revealing too much about them. The danger of the unknown, always a good scifi trope!

Well, it seems like Star Citizen do have beards. I heard that now cows have actually demanded the Sony First Party to include a$$ hair inn their games to prove superiority over PC and there's a rumor GoW will be the first title to incorporate this awesome graphical feature.

With those advanced ships one would have thought the aliens would have discovered electricity. Instead some poor bloke has to stand there with a torch.

Every time I see it the game just keeps looking better and better. It's been wonderful to see it come so far. Just a few more years and we'll be playing some hot space gaming goodness!

The deal with Amazon pulled Crytek out of their then financial troubles so it's easy to guess that the license amount was at least upward of $50 million. I highly doubt CIG was ever in a position to spend that kind of money over a mere licensing deal when they could have better spend it on the development of the game it self. Besides CIG still list 'Cryengine' as the name of the engine in all their videos/media. If they had the license to distribute the code they would have named it something else like Amazon did with Lumberyard.
