So...why is this still open?

Uhhh, prove it.
I'm known and various sites for my vast gaming knowledge (with proof), just not here.
This site isn't really about the games, probably because you're running it and lock threads that you disagree with.
Prove what, exactly?
And awwww, you're still butthurt about your relentless trolling being moderated, aren't you?
Anyway, don't worry, it's about to happen again.
Of course it is, you are obviously like most mainstream gaming sites in which are paid under the table block anything that goes against your agenda.
I am. I am basically the personification of the corruption that plagues all of humanity and the internet
My question is, what are you going to do about it?
Oh shit, the truth is coming out.

They weren't lying when they told me Gamespot was on the decline.
Prove it
It's a pretty weak year anytime someone has to put a port like Majora's Mask 3d on the list.
Let's not get this twisted, you're still a dweeb for trying to downplay Rocket League. One match with both games could tell you in all the major ways Rocket League is a better playing version of that game. Both in terms of feel, and additional depth thanks to how aerials work in Rocket League.
Chaz can at least be fixed, but you can't fix stupid.
lol, I don't need to write anything for once.
@jg4xchamp: Nah, it's better than Sonic 1's labyrinth, Sonic 2's original half-pipe, and Sonic CD's UFO stages, but blue spheres is still the king, hence why 80% of Mania consists of it.
I also love 3D Blast for the Saturn's take on the half-pipe too.
Fair, but allegedly Mania has a level that's a bonus stage that isn't a blue sphere, and it's supposed to be pretty hype.
Imma replay Sonic 2 again finally this year, I think.

Let's not get into anything, this is about Charizard and how you should be a mod.
You are correct with the Rocket League statement but Charizard would have never known that,
Let him fight his own battles, you are already the JG4XCHAMPION (speaks for itself), nuff said.

The new special zone is what you play when you enter a giant ring and where you get the chaos emeralds. Blue Spheres this time around is just the bonus stage you get whenever you cross a checkpoint with 25 rings, and it unlocks special modes and options.
Play Sonic 3 & Knuckles afterwards if you do since it's 10X better.
Were Mega Man 9 and 10 cashgrabs? Because I recall alot of the appeal of those games were the NES-style graphics. In fact, one of the most common complaints about Sonic 4 was the fact that the graphics were modern, rather then being throwback to the Genesis era.
So, now, Sega puts out a Sonic Game with Genesis(or more like 32X) graphics and gameplay that is close to the Genesis era games, and now its a lazy cash grab?
Which is it? It can't be both.
Loving it so far, runs smooth and Green Hill theme sounds fantastic, 2nd level has a remix I don't think I've heard before. Game looks great on my 55 inch TV, not too pixelated.
I'll take Sonic Mania's art style at $20 over this at $60.
...what is toad doing to that dinosaur?
Buggering it
Lot of cool little details....I just set my controller down so I could listen to the Green Hill theme, and the screen feels alive, lot of cool little animated details. Very nice old school look
Not even concerned about the graphics really, it looks good, and it's extremely obvious what they were going for. Of course they're trying to pull some nostalgia strings while also signaling that yes, this is the game that all of you Sonic fans have been waiting years for. Smart move.
It's not that I don't understand how this could be interpreted as a "lazy" kitbash of assets, I just don't think it's an issue.
If anythings gonna be a turn off to me, it'll probably be the gameplay itself. Still haven't played it, not in such a rush for more Sonic to buy it on PS4 or Switch, just holding out for the Steam version later this month. But I doubt I'll be a fan of the playing it part.
Funny thing is, the only reason I'll be giving this game a chance, is because of the nostalgia inducing classic aesthetic and music lol. If it was just classic Sonic gameplay perfectly translated to 3d graphics, I probably wouldn't touch it.
Not sure how its a cash and grab, when I pretty much threw money at the switch store this afternoon.
@brah4ever: They tried that with Sonic 4 Ep1 & 2. Both games where trash. This is how Sonic is supposed to be. I do however, agree that the number of new stages is pretty low especially compared to how many retro ones are here, but the changes do manage to freshen things up a fair bit.
The graphics are pretty dated, i expected much more. Had this been Nintendo the internet would have rioted.
@NathanDrakeSwag: You're right it was never good, it was GREAT and it propelled Sega to console leader during the early 16 bit years.
Now you're 100% right after the 16 bit days ended, Sonic never again regained his greatness and wasn't really good until now.
Think I'll just fire up the Dreamcast for a little walk down memory lane with Sonic: Adventure, thank you very much. :P
Sega makes 'Sonic 4' with modern graphics, people bitch about the graphics.
Sega makes 'Sonic Mania' with old-school graphics, people bitch about the graphics.
The Sonic fanbase are the biggest crybabies on the planet.
I actually agree with TC. It's nice to have a new Sonic game but they could have updated the graphics to something more current while maintaining the side scrolling 2D aspect. They didn't even have to make new assets since they have the same bacgrounds and enemies from previous entries. If Nintendo released "new super mario" and it had the graphics from Mario 1, people would bitch about it for sure, but instead they gave us the awesome little updated animations and environment we got in NSMB. Sonic should have followed that path.
