They really just quietly buried this in their press release lol. This was not a last minute flip of a switch. I told you all months ago when this was a debate, that while I didnt like the practice, Sony was absolutely going to do the same thing, and MS's only "mistake" was being stupid enough to say the quiet part out loud.

Sony diliberately spun a yarn for you, in case you're still not understanding whats happening here. They told you months ago "we dont believe in cross gen" and "our games are designed from the ground up for the SSD" with the full knowledge and understanding that this was not only nonsense, but that the opposite was ALWAYS the case. Unless you think they just ported these games in the last couple of months. There goes the "ground up for PS5" thing.

No, not my eyes. I don't stan for crossgen. I am wholly against the practice. We don't get games at their full potential when they're anchored to an old system. Do the games look great. Sure? And that may be the only reason they get away with it. Will there be a lot of people feeling the need to move to PS5 for these games knowing that fact? Probably not.

Now, if there is a game that truly needs a stronger CPU then its totally understandable to dump the older systems but most games are not truly evolving beyond the traditional gameplay design. @hardwenzen: The PS5 is more like 17Tflops when you compare old architecture. So it's more like 4 times the power. Anyways, this is not a big surprise. Early on next gen we'll see games being made for the old hardware and some what limited by that. Maybe just have less load times and higher visuals and framerates on the PS5. Later on though, we'll see games not possible on PS4 or PS4 pro.
