399$ which is a damn good price but it's an omen to the kind of power its got. Sony also didn't say much about the specs. No boasting about it being the most powerful console ever or anything.
What says you System Wars?
well itll beat it by about 30% ish on paper. hardly what i would call destroying.
so yes scorpio will be more powerful. but 30%. thats hardly a GPU upgrade.
they are both crap...wake me up when they get to 10X the PS4s power and its a proper next gen console. these mid gen upgrades are a joke.

At least 50% on paper from the leak specs since that is all we can go by, since Sony were too scared to list the specs today.
We always knew Scorpio would be much more powerful, this is not news. For the price the PS4 Pro sounds like a really good console. And it's available November, not whenever MS finally get round to releasing Scorpio.

Well Pro will be the world's most power video game console in the history of video games until scorpio comes out, thus SONY retaining the title for 4 straight years,
Not to mention they will undoubtedly keep current gen console leader title.
Sony is probably taking a loss of hundreds of dollars on each unit sold so they can beat Microsoft and their Scorpios.
Everyone will own a PS4 Pro before Scorpio arrives and Sony will earn so much it will make up for all the losses.
What's really the point of a pro vs an original? I dunno if its worth upgrading unless you have a 4K tv and even then a scorpio will be a better purchase for that.

Then it ends in 12 months. count those months ponies.

Sales leader? Want to bet? :D
We know the Scorpio will be more powerful. We just don't know what the price will be come Nov. If M$ prices it at $399 that would be crazy.
If MS come in at @$399 everyone better be careful b/c they are aiming for a monopoly, the losses they'd take would be huge.
@xhawk27: sorry yes your right. 50%. me no so good at the number crunchies :P.
still not earth shattering or destroying. i wouldnt even consider a GPU upgrade if it was only 50% more powerful. it wont make a massive difference.
assuming the console is linear advancement i expect closer to 1000% before swapping out a console (well that and cracking games of course). they are both completely pointless.

No I mean the most powerful console. :P
Scorpio will be slightly more powerful, 95 percent of games are multiplat so there wont be that much of a difference at all but lems will say otherwise. Ps Pro wins on exclusives lineup, larger install base, and price which is ultimately more important
@blue_hazy_basic: In a year from now? Me thinks the components might be cheaper so the losses won't be unbearable.
Yea but it will be a much higher end product and its not like the components are magically going to drop in price drastically. I'd be shocked if its less than $499

The losses in 12 months time might not be as huge as you might think right now. They probably already have a ballpark cost in mind and a preliminary deal with the manufacturer.

lol If they don't they are ****ed?!?!?

Considering they have more liquid cash than Sonys overall value, I think they'll be ok.
Sony didn't even talk about Pro specs but even so, since they're releasing this year, Microsoft has the upperhand since they're releasing next year. They could easily push back power of the Scorpio to cut cost and still be more powerful than the Pro. Bottomline is that PlayStation will not have the most powerful console by next year. #GreatmessAwaits

Scorpio is a 4k native console. Neo is just a 1080p machine with better graphics.

Yeah it'll depend on how much games are optimized for the PRO compared to OG PS4 and how much life the PS4 still got in it.

Heard Cerny say the exact opposite. I suppose an armchair engineer knows better.
He talked about HDR and the xbox one slim can play HDR games. House said the GPU was 2x times better then the one in the PS4.
So i know for a fact the PS4 PRO will be 1080p console that can only upscale to 4K and will take take advantage of HDR.
@Juub1990: 4.2 - 6 tflops is around the same difference in power between Vanilla Xbox One and Vanilla PS4. Though, the Scorpio's memory configuration will be a lot better than the PS4 Pro as it will have 12GB's of GDDR5 ram with a bandwidth of over 300 GB/s.
I just wanted mouse and keyboard support for both consoles.
Why Sony why do you do this to me?
They deserve the why mr.anderson speech back in the office lol
Scorpio will annihilate PS4 Pro.
aaaand a gaming PC will annihilate Scorpio. Woohoo!
How magnificently GRAND it is that the fanbase that adopted the motto "Greatness Awaits" to troll their rival fanbase are now the ones who will turn blue and purple holding their breath for a console that is coming out at the end of 2017 with no exclusives.
Oh, do please run plays from that book. I would love N-O-T-H-I-N-G more ;)
@blackace: I wouldn't be surprised if they price it at around $400 -$450. I mean, if Microsoft has the opportunity to use Scorpio to benefit their overall Windows 10 Ecosystem on other form factors for UWP. Then MS will surely take it. MS will make up the lost from the Windows Store sales.

Are you kidding me the difference between PS4 and xbox one is 500tflops. Its over a 1.8 teraflops difference here.

Not even close dude.
Who cares, they're just updated versions of already existing consoles... wake me up when we get new proper consoles on a new gen. This upgraded PC mentality on consoles is just... stupid. I really hope it doesn't stick

Yeah you need a 4K TV that supports HDR they kept bleating on about playing in higher resolutions that is out and out saying the PS4 Pro has the power to make that happen i.e. it is not just upscaling. So why then didn't they list the specs to prove it?
And a 4K oriented console that doesn't support 4K bluray playback? Seriously WTF is that all about?
I'm still wondering about rumor of upgradable GPU, if that happens then maybe the Pro can with future hardware updates be able to combat the Scorpio. If that's the case, wonder if MS will follow through with similar feature.

I swear some of you guys don't understand simple math.
XB1 to PS4 is 42% difference in power. PS4 Pro - Xbox Scorpio is 43% difference in power. Go back to school.
