Ok, so a few months ago I sold my PS4, Xbox One S and just bought a PS4 Pro.

I figured that having a gaming PC (1080ti with I7 6700K), Xbox One (in general) was pointless.

PS4 has the best exclusives that come consistently and are usually great.

So why buy one?

Honestly, it was Xbox Game Pass and Backward Compatibility that did it.

I know it is blasphemy to say that I enjoy BC games but I do.

What do you guys think? Do you think that BC is a major feature? Does it add value?

Are there any games on Xbox that are not on PC that i should get?

Do you want to hit me?

Any other questions?

What backwards compatibility are you benefiting from that wasn't available on your PC?

I mean neither the Xbox 360 nor Xbox One have had many exclusives that were not available on PC.

Struggling to see what you truly gained other than a shiny new device, with little *Unique* purpose.

You don’t have to justify anything here. I traded my PS4 (not that I hated it) for an OG Xbox One, if you can imagine. And BC was a big factor. Halo, Gears and Forza was another. Got the X without hesitation, amazing value. All these enhanced games (360 included) makes it worth it.

Red Dead Redemption, Crackdown, Morrowind (because of controller), Gears series (I own all), Oblivion (controller support).

Honestly, i figure there are tons more to come and I'd love to be able to get rid of my 360 since i own a 4k TV and games look terrible on it.

Eh. You were always mostly pro-XBox. Still not sure how BC was a factor if you have a gaming PC, but you do you.

I dont play the System Wars game, maybe you have me confused with another poster?

Why would i sell my xbox for a Pro if i were pro xbox?

Ridiculous nonsense

BC is not a that much of a selling point especially when its only for a minor selection. However, enhanced BC is a different story. I also have a 1080ti and PS4 Pro and think the One X is worth it. Red Dead 4K only is worth. Just wished they would do the same for Vesperia and MGS3 HD since those aren't 4K in any form.

There is a thread over on ResetEra that has a list of games rumored to be coming. All have panned out so far. Ill link when im home but Tales of Vesperia, MGS HD collection, Lost Odyssey, Fable 2, Dragon Age 1 and 2 are on the list. Pretty sure I also saw Blue Dragon and a few more OG Xbox Games.

Thats what sold me

I’m tempted to buy the X just for Halo 5 and BC for Halo 3/Reach.

I just bought a Xbox One X mainly for the UHD blu ray player. But I am pleased with playing my Xbox anywhere games now on my 4K tv versus my 1080p gaming pc with GTX 1070. I’m enjoying all the enhanced third party games too. The X1X was worth the money. I just want more exclusive games, but that is just not going to happen very often.

Congrats on your Xbox One X purchase Navyguy21. Also, I'll list some of the games I had enjoy when I still own my Xbox One you should pick up and play:

  • Rare Replay-My all time favorite Xbox One game and a must buy if you love Retro gaming such as myself, not on PC so it's Xbox One exclusive.
  • Master Chief Collection-it has just about all the previous Halo games, so it's not on PC.
  • Sunset Overdrive-Didn't like the game due to the humor but I'm sure you'll like it. Better you then me.

As for BC. Depends who you ask, BC really isn't the selling point of the console in my opinion, it's just a nice bonus feature for those who love there Xbox 360 and didn't want to move to next-gen is what it was good for. I still have my 360 hook up for that reason, to play 100% all of the 360 games & XBLA.

Congrats on your purchase. Yeah I think backwards compatibility is a really important feature especially considering that some of the games are enhanced for the more powerful system with more to be in the future. Considering that digital is so prevalent now on consoles as well as them having their whole ecosystem and all backwards compatibility is going to be more and more important for any system.

Whatever makes you happy man so with that; congratulations. Hope you enjoy it. Always nice to buy a new piece of hardware. I would like to see older Playstation titles get that remaster feature or do what Xbox is doing with BC. Always a good time to take a trip down nostalgia lane.

The enhanced BC is definitely cool, but I would not buy an X1X because my PC is better and I own all the old Xbox consoles.

It’s your money and you‘re free to do what you want with it. For me personally BC isn’t worth it since I still own all my old consoles and a gaming PC. Most of the time I’m playing last gen games, I’m playing the PC versions.

Game pass has made the xbone s more attractive than ever. I hope sony copies

Except the all 1st party games included on day 1 aspects. It makes them feel cheap and worthless before they even come out imo

@Livecommander: the problems it's not even making them feel cheap but the fact that it makes the games not pay themselves, AAA games nowadays have budgets bigger than movies, how can we have games like zelda or god of war in this model? There's no way.

The average gamer doesnt replay old games over and over in new systems. Nor they wish to play (even if they havent) old games they didnt play when they were released. Point still stands, BC only inflates the console price and is not needed

I play on ps4 and PC but I still have my 360 and over 60 games for it. I'll eventually get an Xbox one x once the price comes down and once I get a 4k tv.

Also GOW looks borring, more excited for spiderman.

BC is great for gamers, if sony had put ps2 ps3 bc I would be praising them as well, but no they just do that crappy stream service.

Oh, btw, good story on how you sold your PS4 consoles to get X1X. Nobody is gonna believe it, tho. We are not that stupid, to fall for such obvious Xbox fanboy lie.

Why would you sell a system to buy another system? Isn't it better just to save your money to buy the second system?
Surely there is enough games on the PS4 that warrant keeping it, if not them whatever but I don't sell my systems ever.

Why? You can get any BC game for Xbone on Steam for cheaper. Just last weekend I bought Witcher 1 and Psychonauts for five dollars. Not a piece, combined. Why have Steam sales not killed consoles yet? They are the greatest thing on god's green earth.

It's your money so you do you. However, why sell the PS4 if it has the best exclusives? Surely you have the time to play games like God of War and Spider-Man since they are months apart while you play your Xbox in-between.

BC is a really cool feature, but it's not a main selling point to me because I want to play new games. It adds value to a console, but not enough to move the needle.

I don't personally need other formats than HDR10... because my TV doesn't support DV or HDR10+. Now if I had an OLED or maybe the new Samsung Q9 I would probably get a dedicated player for movies.

Only the Play Anywhere titles are available on PC through Game Pass. However, I wouldn't want to play any of the other games on anything but PC. Consoles suck. Only useful for exclusives.

the enhanced bc feature is definitely a nice one. but i still have tons of 360 games that aren't - yet - backwards compatible with the standard xbox one. would be nice to get a blanket bc rather than the curated list we currently have
