Graphically, yes . But, I still find the Halo3 4 player campaign unrivalled on any console so far . Not even Gears or Gears 2 comes close, although I liked the 8 player Resistance 2 game .

Some random site admin used the term "Halo killer" as he was excitingly hyping KZ1.

Some fans (I dont know how many, I didnt frequent forums back then) picked up on it.

With KZ2, Halo fans seem to use it as a "not better then mine" statement knowing very well that it's impossible to "kill" a game.

To have a game killer you would need to first discribe what that is.

not by ratings, but i personally think Halo looks like teletubbies compared to Killzone.

I don't understand the whole 'Halo Killer' thing. I mean, Killzone 2 is exclusive to PS3, Halo 3 is exlusive to Xbox 360. They both have they're own fanbases. Halo will forever have a huge fanbase because its an established franchise. Even if Killzone 2 scored and sold better than Halo, it will still have hundreds and thousands of people playing it every day.

Online: Halo 3 topped in 2007, 2008 and has hit 1B matches. It has more players than Killzone 2, certainly, even one and a half year after release.

Answer: no, it did not kill Halo 3.

Just after a month after its release Killzone 2 has less people playing it online than halo 3... Do i need to add anything else? :)

Love killzone 2, finished it and it definitely is graphically superior than halo 3 and it's by far the best fps shooter on ps3 but the halo 3 community is just too big, and for a good reason, it's just fun to play online... riding jeeps, flying running and fragging...tons of different online modes... you just may not like it but millons do :)
