I loved Metroid Prime 3 (it's actually the only MP game I've finished---I got about 3/4 way through the first one and gave up and never played the second one), but I had more fun with Halo 3 SP.
Don't think I'm saying MP3 is bad though; it was excellent. I just liked Halo 3 a littttle more.
Halo 3 was indeed epic but right now Im playing through MP: 3 MP and it's top notch the worlds,story gameplay are all superior to halo 3's plus the boss battles in MP: 3 blow the ones in halo 3 away.
I'm not really a fan of either. The singleplayer in MP3 felt extremely linear and I hated the backtracing. However, Halo 3 seemed to have the exact same pr oblems, but to a lesser extent. Halo 3 was the lesser of the two evils.

Ontopic; They're equall to me. I love MP3's control scheme and art s.tyle. But Halo 3 wins on the musical department and overall epicness.
oh yes the game lost the signal plenty of times and pushing the wiimote forward took 6 times before actually working is frustrating. smg is the best game and use of the wiimote since it barely uses it

Halo 3. I played through it by myself and in co-op multiple times. Aside from the Cortana mission it's amazing. Metroid Prime 3 was...alright, but I don't feel like playing through that again. It was better than the disappointing Prime 2 but not as good as the original Metroid Prime.

To be quite honest, with Halo 3 you're also sitting in the dark playing multiplayer on your own.
Metroid Prime 3.. Though the Co-Op is nice in Halo 3, the game to me is a test of patience.. It is completely unforfilling to kill guys in that game, and the AI imo is not that amazing.
Though I do find the Halo 3 multiplayer with friends wicked fun... I even got a xboxlive account for a few months to play ranked with my friends (even when I don'teven own a xbox360 or Halo 3).
There is no contest, MP3 is by far the superior game in single player. Nobody would bat an eyelid at Halo 3 were it not for the multiplayer and the marketing juggernaut.

Echoes, while it has the best level in any Prime game, is the weakest of the trilogy. Prime 3 beats the first one just because it is a better game. Nostalgia is clouding your judgement.

The first two Metroid Prime games were masterpieces of Atmospheric Adventure, with both technically and artistically superb atmosphere and design (combined with great music for an even more atmospheric feel),complicated puzzles that blended well into the gameplay (they felt like they were there for a reason, not justspecifically for the purpose of there being a puzzle there), and great boss fights that felt action packed while at the same time not contrasting too much with the"regular" gameplay.
Metroid Prime 3 is a highly linear, objective based, almost corrider shooter-like game, which instead of focusing on one very well developed world, instead focuses on many underdeveloped worlds with half-baked atmosphere and highly simplistic puzzles (and the best puzzle in the game isn't even part of the main game). While Metroid Prime 3 is a very fun game, it is no where near the level of the first two games.

The dark world light world was to nintendo cliche at this point. THe bosses were meh. The backtracking to show a "true atmospheric adventrure" was to much.

The only thing that disappointed me about MP3 was the lack of exploration compared to the shooting segments (except for areas like Bryo and Sky town, those areas were big)
