Phil has done a Great job of convincing CEO Nadella that the Xbox is worth investing into and that the division needs more freedom in order to reach Nintendo and Sony's level of success. The promotion Phil was given is proof MS has finally come around and seen the light.

The first order of business for Phil after his promotion is to open a New 1st Party Studio in Santa Monica California where there seems to be some talented people.

It is going to take a few years before gamers reap the benefits of Phil's decisions but things are certainly looking better.

The Xbox division is on the right path which should have happened well before Phil arrived. Opening new studios should have happened before the generation started there's only so long you can pay for 3rd party exclusives.

No, he is a good spokesperson for the Xbox and he comes across as a gamer, not a business man. Only person I liked more in the position was Peter Moore. He was about the ownage which made e3 fun.

Should people who wish to see MS fail feign sincerity about what they think is best for MS?

It's abundantly clear to me that they have taken a page from Nintendo in that they are going to do what they want to do regardless of all the arm chair CEOs advice from the internet.

They got the hardware and services they want in place. They are investing in studios. According to a dev I heard on a gaming podcast Crackdown was delayed because they upped it's budget and wanted to put more into it. They are opening a big new studio. The thing is they know you folks don't want in. They're going to build what they want to at their pace. Let's face it, many here will not be happy unless they are a carbon copy of PS or do not exist at all.

Ditch xbox or make it a PC.

Make a epic age of empire game for PC based around top end PC's that they put all there internal devs, and external devs in.

Release all xbox games for PC for free, remove all there garbage DRM from there shop and integrate it into steam and gog.

Then donate to every PC gamer that experienced them at one point a 5k refund to each person money wise and 1k more for every game that scam company ripped you off with by nuking there services down.

Bill gates personally invests 50% of all his money into PC gaming in a real manner + a excuse letter personally signed and written by him for every PC gamer that played there games back in the day.

First 10 years all games completely free without any DRM even remotely with a physical copy being delivered towards your door steps and a digital code just to make it more troublesome for them.

Remove all garbage they created now out of windows and release it as windows 11 that is completely free for everybody and so will all other windows OS solutions for the next 10 years. Also fire anybody that contributed towards Windows 8 and windows 10 in any meaningful way and have all there salary's revoked.

Show up for the next 10 year at E3 to have a event about how you make PC gamers life better with public excuses all day long.

Then i will give them my money, which i will recall 30 days later in the hope they lose sleep about it.

MS are only interested in making profits which they are making. There will no radical changes until that stops happening.

I think Phil is probably better than whoever they hire to replace him would be. At least you can tell that he is somewhat interested in playing video games. I think their next console will be more competitive with him at the helm. Microsoft is in pretty desperate need of more first party studios, though.
