Should I get both systems (PS4 + X720)

I was considering switching it up this year and just going ahead and getting both. It seems like it might be a fine investment. That being said, what do you guys think of this gameplan? I only have to really worry about myself and mostly single player games for the PS4. I will likely be doing all my online gaming on the new Xbox. If any of you guys have done this this past generation, what do you think? How did it turn out for you? THanks. 

Don't know. I'm 99.9% sure I'll be getting a PS4 and waiting to see what exclusives the next Xbox will have.

Wait until they are  both  announced, and some games/exclusives are announced.

wtf Durango hasn't even been shown! But it's usually best to have all systems anyway(if you have the cash and time), so you have options.

i was really disappointed by the lack of exclusives at the ps4 reveal. it worries me that sony is resorting to promoting multiplats and facebook integration. :(

720/ps4 without question will get every single multiple. Pick one with the exclusive and which one is more devoted to gaming (cough) sony (cough) Sorry but MS has gone downhill and i see no change in them until the big wigs is replaced 

Xbox Infinity hasn't been shown. PS4 we don't know what games are going to launch with it. I'm most likely getting a PS4, but Infinity with permanent online connection rumors... I don't know.

You're better off lighting 5 $100 bills on fire then getting a 720

I am going to reserve commitment until I see what both consoles have to offer. But since I own both this gen and enjoyed them, I will probably own both next gen as well.

This. Having both consoles that are very similar to each other (spec-wise) along with both consoles getting the same multiplats with each other would be such a big waste of money.

Personally, you should go for the Wii U & PS4 combo.

only get a 720 if you want red ring of death  /no exclusives after 3 yrs  and waNT PIZZA BUT DONT WANNA DRIVE TO GET IT

jokes aside i think the best option is  to wait and see whats going on with the 2 , im getting one or the other at launch    im not getting both day one thats a guarantee im gonna wait it out 

I am getting both Eventually. I am pretty set as of right now to get a PS4 first. Maybe in a year or 2 get a next Xbox. Sure both will have some great exclusives.

Oh and maybe even wiiU a few years from now when price is really low and they have a lot of exclusive games.

Well, a big part of the reason they'll likely get those multiplats is due to them not being underpowered for 8th gen consoles, assuming the next Xbox is a big step up from 360/PS3, which I think it will be. I don't see anything wrong with them having similar capabilities. There'll still be exclusives on them all, and that's mainly up to MS, Sony, and Nintendo.

Wait until more info is known about both. Don't let fanboys make the decision for you.

PS4 is where i'm at, at the moment, But thats because they have already told me about the variety of games what is coming out, and i enjoy sony's exclusive games, xbox doesn't have that many, but will see i'm very excited to see what microsoft have been holding out, but if rumours are true then i'm not to keen, where i play games my interent is in a deadspot and comes and goes as it pleases so if i need the net to be always on i'm going to struggle. but like i said i need to see what both parties have got going for them i mean wasn't a massive fan of the 360 but i enjoyed alot of games on the xbox.

Wii U + ps4 is going to be cheaper set than ps4+720. Depending of, if you buy overpriced microsoft accessories, want to play online gaming on 720, and buying xbla games/dlc packs with rip off microsoft points.

Ditto. I would wait a year or so to see how they're coming along before making a decision.

Get a PS4, and then a PC later on. 

So they can both collect dust? Hell yeah.

Even though there really hasn't been anything released for the 720, one thing is confirmed. A required always online connection in order to play games. Even single player mode. What a bunch of BS! I will not even consider putting a penny towards the damned console.

Sony has confirmed that the PS4 will not require an online connection. This already makes this a win for Sony in my book.
