Sequel to Zelda Breath of the Wild confirmed

Thoughts? From the trailer it looks like Zelda might be playable.

Beyond excited I have over 150 hours in BOTW and loved every bit of it.

I will definitely buy. I liked Zelda BotW enough to spend some near hundred hour in it. Hope they fix the empty world and those ubisoft towers, those were dreadful

Looked very cool and I am very happy and very hyped for this. Breath of the Wild was/is an amazing gaming experience. I fully played both the Wii U and Switch versions and had a blast doing so. This is most definitely a day one game for me.

maybe some dungeons this time? ?

Zelda's my favorite so of course it's a must-buy.

I'm really interested to see what they do. I understand that if they re-used BOTW's world with tweaks all over it would probably save them an entire year or more of development. But the new world to explore is what made BOTW so great.

It needs dungeons that's for sure.

i wouldnt get too excited yet as i would be surprised to see this before 2021...late 2021.

BOTW was brilliant though but it was only really scratching the surface of what they can do with their new toys.

one of the upsides of having a pretty small jump in specs from the wiiu to the switch is that a lot of the tech is done. its not going to look a million miles better than BOTW. so they can now spend more time and resources on fleshing out the other parts of the game both mechanically and in terms of content. better enemy variety, a new fresh set of dungeons and so on.

i wonder if they will have the player rebuild hyrule. will it even be set in hyrule (i think the castle was taking off a tthe end of the trailer)?

Since they have the first game and all of its assets, I hope they don't take as long as they did with the first. I would like to see the game come out soon.

I had no idea. I missed Ninty's E3. BotW was amazing, but hopefully they do manage to fill the world out a little more... Keep that core-loop, as it was great, but gimme a little more in the wilderness.

BOTW wasn't my cup of tea... But good for everyone else that loved it.

I just hope this isn't the default template for Zelda going forward. I'm sick of open world games :(

We knew a new Zelda was in development, we however did not know it was a BoTW sequel. A pleasant surprise to me.

I'm pretty sure the reception that Breath of the wild got from gamer's and game critics confirmed this... It would be stupid for them not to.

I am expecting this to be a cross Switch game... I expect the Switch Pro to be announced E3 2020 with a Late 2020 release and a E3 2021 trailer for Zelda with a 2022 release.

Yea, basically a casual Nintendo user and was aware of it, totally assuming it would be a direct sequel to BOTW. It would either be this or Metroid shown.

I guess if you're aware of it, it will obviously be much less exciting.

Breath was a bad Zelda game IMO not really worthy of a sequel.
