SCORN releasing in October

I haven't seen a whole lot of game play on this, so I am surprised it is releasing

This game already came out, it's called Agony!

To be frank, if Agony flop so badly, Scorn will flop as well so all hope for this game is gone.

Looking forward to Scorn, at least for no other reason than to see what an attempt to make a world out of HR Giger's nightmarish artwork would look like, that mix of macabre biomechanical landscapes with the occasional erotic flair. And it'll be on Game Pass so I won't have to mull whether to buy it or not. But I hope I enjoy it.

If it's not shown at the June 12 event with real gameplay.....I don't believe it's coming in October

I don't know about this game, it looked weird.

Kept half an eye on it. The art looks fantastic, but great art does not make a great game. This just reeks of Agony all over again.

I am a Kickstarter backer for Scorn. Not happy about it coming to GamePass day one. I basically helped pay for its development with no real reward in the end since I can get it on GP anyway (making my backer copy redundant). That is fucked up. A slap in the face to backers.

@BassMan: Isn't the main goal of supporting a project on KS to help fund it? You won't own it on Game Pass, but you own it through KS, and doesn't change that you helped funding the project. How is that a slap in the face of backers?

It looks so weird I want to try it might be a good gamepass game.

I look at KS as a way to pre-order a game in good faith while helping the game get made. I am paying for my copy in advance while not expecting the game to become available for free day one for everybody with GP. I don't buy games that I can get on GP. This was a waste of money for me. They fucked me.

I had to go look it up since I forgot all about this game. Looks pretty freaky and will give it a whirl. Thank you GP. :P

Yes, but it doesn't matter. When an unexpected third party game shows up on the service, it is pretty much like it is free. You are already paying for the service anyway. The mentality or perception of the service is more important than how money is changing hands behind the scenes. A Game Pass consumer is just looking at it as one less game they have to buy to play. So, it gets lumped into the free mentality.

This game has been in development and hyped up for far too long to be anything decent I'm afraid.

Hope I am wrong, but generally speaking this is the case in my experience.

I can easily comprehend how it is not free. Like I said, it doesn't matter if it is actually free or not. The perception is what matters in the end. Microsoft and other service providers play off this psychology and use it in their favour.

Perception is EVERYTHING. Perception is far more valuable you think. There is a perception of value in Game Pass, whether that value is realized or not. In 2022, a person would SAVE money by not subscribing to Game Pass. But the perception of value keeps them there.

Perception would not change the fact that games on Gamepass is not free. You and the other poster can dance around the fire of perception all you want but the fact would not change.

So, when someone gets accused of something bad and cancel culture takes over... Is that based on facts and reality or perception? What is more important? The perception or whether they are actually guilty? The damage is done. That is the power of perception.

I'm not saying Game Pass is free. It's not. I was just commenting on your statement on perception. You and I wouldn't call Game Pass "free." There are millions of Game Pass subscribers that will say they are playing MLB The Show 22 for free. There are subs that say they are gonna try out Farming Simulator for free... Their perception of the value is the selling point of the service, whether its factually correct or not...

I agree with this. I am locked into Gamepass Ultimate until this December because I got the Xbox Series X All Access at launch. Haven't played a gamepass game since March and since then none have released that I am excited to play. Definitely would have cancelled the service by now if I could have.

Firstly, cancel culture has been around since the gathering of human civilization and is an active part of every demographic. Only the dimwits believe it is new and exclusive to specific groups.
