Rumor: MS After Silent Hills. Ruh Roh Cows...

According to a high placed source associated with Rooster Teeth, who has leaked credible rumors before:

- Microsoft is in talks with Konami to buy the rights to Kojima's new game as an exclusive for the Xbox One

- If the deal goes through, Microsoft will announce this at E3 2015

- The game will then release in March 2016

- The dollar amount for the sale is in the billions

-The game is already 80% done, and could come out as early as next march

-My holy prophecy has come to pass. This was the reason for PT's scrubbing from the face of the earth.

people ITT putting their focus on the wrong part of the story. Particularly on the "Silent Hills" name/IP itself, and not on the most important part of all of this.....that its Kojima's long awaited new IP.

Silent hills is just a name, and theres nothing here to suggest MS cares about that name. But the actual headline of all of this, is the prospect of Kojima and his new IP (and possibly his new studio) going first party to Microsoft.

Kojima and his entire entourage just very publicly left Konami, the remaining studio renamed themselves "konami digital productions",and scrubbed all traces of their long awaited new IP's existence from the entire Playstation ecosystem. Oh, btw, E3 is in two weeks.

Do you really think Microsoft would spend $2.5 billion on the Minecraft studio, and not even retain fucking Notch, yet they wouldnt spend billions to lock down one of the most renowned game developers of all time, with a strong longstanding relationship with their biggest rival, who just recently became a free agent?

They arent buying the "silent hills" name, but the property behind it, and more importantly, what it represents. They are buying "KOJIMA's NEW IP" which was simply under the name of Silent Hills.
