Lunch day exclusives are only possible with a very small install base. It's not unreasonable to think the PS4 will be at 20 million + units by Jan 2015.

RE5=meh. Not complete garbage but a game that deserve no more than 7/10. RE6=ROFL. Worst RE ever created. At this rate RE7 will be the god of laughable games and its a X1 exclusive? Fits the console nicely lol

Although if you only look at the north american market their games sell more on Xbox consoles.

Dead Rising wasn't that big of a franchise in the first place. Resident Evil sells crap loads even when its not a quality product.

XBox One exclusive would be bad enough and just more of the same from a company that has consistently demonstrated incompetence. However possibly worse then the idea of an X-Box One exclusive is the idea it could be released later this year.

The chances of turning around this train wreck of a franchise with a fast track development cycle are worse then betting your life saving on 20 black in a game of roulette. Late 2015 should be the earliest possible release date.

It would be mildly hilarious if they made it a great survival horror X-Box One exclusive and then complained that it didn't sell well a la RE Remake which only sold a couple thousand copies less then RE4 on Gamecube.

Apparently, the remake did poorly in sales and Mikami opted for a genre that would be more of a crowd pleaser. “Because of the reaction to the Resident Evil remake,” said Mikami, “I decided to work more action into Resident Evil 4. Resident Evil 4 would have been a more scary, horror-focused game if the remake had sold well.”

there's been games that have released on multiple systems in Japan but as far as their western markets go have been exclusive to one console, maybe this is another instance of it

Capcom can used a cash infection as they haven't been doing well financially. Presumably, Microsoft will pay them up front for exclusivity.

I doubt Capcom can afford to take that chance. And being exclusive on Xbox usually means the game ends up on PC anyways. Not exactly exclusive.

Not surprising if this deal is true. Capcom is basically bankrupt and MS paid for Dead Rising 3's development. Still, this is basically killing the IP (at least for Japan)

Both RE5 and RE6 were rumored as being Xbox exclusive too. We know how that turned out.

If this time, the rumor holds true, then Capcom will have lost all potential future purchases by me. They'll never see a dime.

I'm not saying the game was perfect, and it certainly had problems, a severe lack of polish, but in the end I still found the game to be very fun to play

When you are broke guaranteed money up front is better than money on the back end that is unpromised.

Focus for not having to concentrate on multiple platforms. That is not to say that one platform guarantees a better game but the dev team does have less things to account for.

RE6 and RE5 are great games and a blast to play with a partner. RE6 Leon campaign is basically a copy of RE4 but with co-op.

I think that has more to do right now though with not having compelling exclusives. Even Forza is not great and Sony's well................We know the story there. This the year and next should tells us how exclusives will sell.
