Good to hear.
Seems lems forgot how to buy games.
Getting very hyped for this game, I loved the first one. I'll be picking up the Xbox One version myself so I'm hoping that they optimize this for the Scorpio.
I can't wait for the Pro 4K version!

Confirmed here folks, all Xbox One games are 4K because of the Xbox One S' ability to upscale...
No.

It's absolutely a form of it, you're creating more from a lesser base render resolution which is exactly what upscaling is, this is just another form of it, much more advanced mind you. No checkerboard rendered game is a native 4K rendered image, it takes a 1440p or 1800p render etc and then post-renders it to create its final render output.

True. Never said it was. In fact Native > Checkerboard > upscale.
But Checkerboard isn't the same as upscaling.
http://gamingbolt.com/sony-explains-how-checkerboard-rendering-works-on-the-ps4-pro
"The PS4 Pro is definitely not powerful enough to support native 4K rendering for most games- instead, Sony uses a custom upscaling solution which is referred to as Checkerboarding. Checkerboarding can be a demanding technique, but if utilized right, with access to the triangle and object data in the ID buffer, the results can be visually resplendent.
“First, we can do the same ID-based colour propagation that we did for geometry rendering, so we can get some excellent spatial anti-aliasing before we even get into temporal, even without paying attention to the previous frame, we can create images of a higher quality than if our 4m color samples were arranged in a rectangular grid… In other words, image quality is immediately better than 1530p,” Mark Cerny explained to Eurogamer’s Digital Foundry.
“Second, we can use the colours and the IDs from the previous frame, which is to say that we can do some pretty darn good temporal anti-aliasing. Clearly if the camera isn’t moving we can insert the previous frame’s colours and essentially get perfect 4K imagery. But even if the camera is moving or parts of the scene are moving, we can use the IDs – both object ID and triangle ID to hunt for an appropriate part of the previous frame and use that. So the IDs give us some certainty about how to use the previous frame. ”

It is not a form of upscaling at all. It renders a 4K image based on previous frames, vectors, current frame and some math. It does not take a lower resolution image and blows it up.

So, it renders a 4K image based upon previous frames which are not 4K...
This sounds oddly familiar, Quantum Break familiar if you catch my drift.

It might be similar, but I don't think temporal reconstruction is the same as checkerboarding either.
EDIT: Oh and yes I caught your drift...
Holy moly sounds like PS4 owners are famished for some RDR action, or want to desperately prove a point to Rockstar. XOne owners are not in a hurry, they can already get some RDR via BC.
...just kidding guys, having some SW fun. But, yeah not very surprising assuming they have a much larger install base now, and as others have pointed out, we don't have the figures. Glad to see the interest though, and I think this suggests it probably won't be delayed.(the fact that you can pre-order on AmaZon I mean)
The first game was best on Xbox, the second game was best on Xbox, and the third game will be best on Xbox.
I don't care what other people do with their money, I'm going to be playing this game to the peak of its potential so by all means sell out on the weaker platform 7 months ahead of release.
Hahahahahahaa yet you don't use this logic with every single game on PC ps4 which is also on xbox one, just so you can defend your shitty xbox one version Dynamitecop....hahahhaa
I hope Rockstar really utilizes the power of Scorpio to make the game look beautiful.
Oh yeah! It's gonna look amazing on Scorpio!
It's going to be a huge game. Huge. Enough to finally unseat GTAV.
That's not going to happen, not with GTA: Online being the way it is, and I don't see a western styled game being able to do even 20% of what could be done with a modern era game in terms of online potential.
BUT if it has online that's basically GTA online but in the west...that could be huge. West World brought to life. The only competition rockstar has is itself. Either way we're in for an amazing game experience.
I think you're not understanding me, because of the technological limitations of the old west, it's factually impossible to make a more interesting online experience as you've now ham-stringed yourself to extreme limited variables tied to the time.
All the modern things that make GTA online fun and exciting would not exist because again, it's the old west.
Sometimes....just lol

That dude never changes
Not surprised. When RDR went BC it charted after 6 years on Amazon. People love RDR. I agree with them, its a great game and I am buying the new one minute one. But I'm going Scorpio for the best console version of course.
I have a PS4 so I will buy it and play it on a PS4.
I don't give a rat's behind about 4K graphics and I am certainly not going to spend £300 on console just for superficial things. Because I am not a mug.
I think the majority of copies will go on the PS4/Xbox One. Although people upgrading from Xbox 360/PS3 or getting their first console may well go for the Pro/Scorpio if the bundle is right.
2 things.
First a question, how does one sell out of pre-orders?
Secondly, the saying "a fool and his money is soon parted comes to mind".
I can't wait for the Pro 4K version!
It will not be true 4k though, for that you'll have to get the Scorpio version.
Do digital games sell out?
I believe that happened on Steam once, hilariously enough, when they couldn't generate enough tokens to authenticate the purchases or something of that nature.
Found this interesting:
If you found that interesting, then i suggest you get out more
#
That was fast!
Despite there being no details yet regarding what will be included in the upcoming open world action-adventure video game sequel, "#Red Dead Redemption 2," fans are apparently so confident in the game that they are now lining up to pre-order it. According to the latest reports, pre-order copies of the PlayStation 4 version of the game have apparently sold out on Amazon.
Geez now I really want to go back and play it. Apparently people don't care that we know next to nothing about this game.
Found this interesting:
The listing for PlayStation 4 version of "#Red Redemption 2" currently shows a "currently unavailable" notice on Amazon. Interestingly, the Xbox One version is still pretty much available. Sony and Rockstar, of course, have a standing partnership, which results in PlayStation players generally getting post-release downloadable content (DLCs) before Xbox One players. This may have something to do with why PlayStation 4 users are more eager to jump in on the game ahead of its official release.
Well Amazon must have had only 6 PS4 copies to pre-order. PS4 Best Sellers Rank at # 3664. Xbox One Best Sellers Rank at # 258.
@i_p_daily: I think it works both ways. Plural in a sense they produce multiple hits. Singular in that each hit follows the previous. :)
But yes! They are extremely successful. Haha
Meh, I was gonna buy RDR2 on PC anyways.
