More digging I did on past Rockstar games, the more I assumed a delay was imminent. Actually just chatted about the game yesterday with a couple friends and said as much.

they will release PC version just like they did with GTA5.

there is no such thing as third party exclusives anymore. however i dont mind if they dont release it because i can live without that especially if Far Cry 5 will be western it will be better game in every way. its using a cryengine means it will be very well optimize.

Rockstar delays are hardly unheard of, besides 2017 games are mostly fun, Rockstar would be out of place.

Yeah, let them peasants Beta test it for us :P

Any bets on what the next Fall delay will be?

Sea of Thieves or GT Sport would be my guesses.

@ghosts4ever: Kinda done with cookie cutter open world games. Far Cry 5 is a five dollar game to me unless they can have meaningfull missions and content, instead of a checkbox.

Kinda done with Rockstar too, GTA V was disappointing, albeit fun in its online mode.

Still though RDR was one of my favourite last gen games. I'll get it when there is a PC version, not gonna settle for less even if it's Rockstar because screw them and their console first policy. :P

games can be made in 7 years but they keep showing gameplay footages, get in touch, not asking us to give money, have track record instead of new studio.

RDR was definetaly best rockstar game only because of old west setting. otherwise it would be mediocre game. its gameplay suck, its missions especially hearding cows are more boring, characters are boring and predictable storyline.

RDR2 will be same horse riding simulator, long horse ride, boring missions but a great setting is what i expect.

Far cry 5 even if its copy paste FC3 in wild west. it would be still better than anything rockstar has done.

I am obviously disappointed but that's to be expected.

If Rockstar need this time to polish the game, so be it. I want it to be the best it can be, no matter what.

This makes Ubisoft and Farcry 5 happy...

Big, ambitious open world game needs more development time to be big, ambitious and open world. Nothing surprising here.

On an unrelated, bigger-picture note, I believe this clears the way for Breath of the Wild to be a 100% lock for GOTY 2017. Stick a fork in it; it's done.

I'm slightly disappointed by the delay but at the same time the game can end up being better. We also got screenshots guys.

My most anticipated game this year too...lol. I'll see what Far Cry 5 turns out and might pick that up for my fix. Also if The Last of Us 2 releases next year, that would be good competition against Red Dead 2...lol

How can it be delay when RDR2 wasn't giving an official release date in the first place?

I think this is a smart move by Rockstars so they can get an idea if it's worth releasing RDR2 for Nintendo Switch & I'm not all that worry about the PC version cause I think Rockstar learn there lesson from the first game.

1. There are multiple third part exclusives, mainly on PS4, so you're wrong.

2. Far Cry 5 is taking place in the modern times, so, wrong again.

3. Considering that the last 4 FC games used the DUNIA engine, it's highly doubt-able that they'd use CryEngine. Crytek only used it for FC1, which means you're wrong for the third time.

4. There are many unoptimized games on CryEngine, so that makes four wrongs. Impressive.

Rockstars never show up for E3 and they have always done there own E3 anyways. Whenever they are ready to show off new games, they will show it on there own way.

There is 99% chance that it will not be on the Switch. Rockstar has a bad relationship history with Nintendo. It'll eventually be on the PC.

They be fools not to release it for Switch. They lose money when Switch is the hottest next-gen console around.

Do you think the Switch can run it? It would probably take a lot of work to make a special version for it. I would double dip on the game to have a portable version but I don't see them going through the trouble to make a Switch version.

As long as there will be a PC version i wouldnt care to wait even for a 2019 release :)

ITs not possible for Switch to play games like this .. they would have to seriously downgrade the overall quality in order to do so , i dont think anyone would care to buy such an inferior version of a great game though.

How much weaker is the Switch compared to the fat Xbone? Was it ever clarified?
