I'm going with Capcom as the worst Publisher this gen. Yes, worst than Activision and EA. Atleast they didn't destroy treasured franchises. It's really quite sad how awful they have become.

Thats funny considering its the most played game at tournaments. Of course an ignorant fool who has no idea how to play the game would say that. It may be easy to get into but its hard to learn.
Nah an 8.5 was what it deserved it was a good game but dissapointing.
IMO, RE5 deserved nothing higher than a 6.0 at most.
Agreed I stopped playing after chapter 3, just didn't take to the game totally haven't gone the wrong way with the series. They had the mixture correct in RE4 and now they have completely butchered the game.
this game is absolute trash. Capcom should be ashamed of themselves for ruining the Resident evil name like this. Zombies using guns / Knifes now? massive amounts of QTE? wrestling Moves? infinite ammo from the start?? im sorry but people calling themselves "resident evil fans" followed by "they are getting this day one" either A- needs to get brain examined (for actually supporting Capcom), or B- these "RE Fans" never even touched the orignal games and RE5 was probably there first RE entry.
I'm just trying to think of Dino Crisis 1 & 2, that cheers me up.. lol

They killed Dino Crisis off with Dino Crisis 3. :( Dino Crisis 2 had me believing that Regina would somehow return with Gail and Rick to try and save Dylan and others. Did they do that? NO! Capcom decided, "**** it, let's just set of Dino Crisis in the future, in space, with alien/zombie/wtf dinosaurs instead!
I wish most games (bar a few trustworthy devs) had a cap on their budget; the more money put in a franchise the more it leans towards your average joe CoD player who see's and advert of the game on TV and buys it. They sapped the atmosphere and tension out of RE5 now it seems the magic of the series is completely gone. Well it was obvious where the series was going many years ago so I'm not gonna pretend to be disappointed.

It won't be enough. There's too many positive reviews for it. It logically should be the last nail in Resident Evil until it pulls itself together and goes back to its roots.
final nail? i don't think any of their franchises under-sold other than sf x tekken. i think the resident evil series ended with 4
as far as quality goes as a company, its all opinions. dragon's dogma had decent if not good scores, and as much as people hated re5, it sold well and even got an 8.5 on gs.
companies don't change unless the backlash is huge and the sales reflect it. do you think they would have still changed their stance on releasing on disc dlc had it not for sfxtekken's poor sales? i don't think so. you think they are going to stop releasing at least 2 or 3 versions of a fighting game? only sales will decide that
