Oopsie doodle! Congrats to Insomniac if true. Sony once again showing that talent wins. Condolences to users whose username rhymes with "Stacy" for the odds-on favorite Metroid Dread having to eat Lombax dust. Mistake? Not like it matters since the only reason to watch this show is new game reveals.

meh, okay. I've never really enjoyed the R&C franchise. Obviously, my opinion.

Man Sony just keeps on making the best games in the world. While MS makes the best C-rated games .

Valheim is the only winner.

You know the year in gaming was bad if an R&C game is winning GOTY.

I honestly don't care, but I'm really enjoying the game. So much chaotic fun.

I did say I do hope Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart wins GOTY as Insomniac Games has never ever won any awards for what they do and they are very talented people.

I went on Twitter and see my boy Geoff said anything about this leak, everyone (including me) are all asking is this real? So far, he's been quiet about it lol.

Cool. I haven’t played it myself yet but I do really enjoy the franchise. Seems like a solid enough choice for someone’s GotY. I also really enjoyed Metroid Dread, Psychonauts 2, and Resident Evil Village as well.

It was the first true "next gen" game. And, to be honest, it's one of the best looking games out there. I have never played it, but it looks like it's a lot of fun.

It's just an award - not sure why people are getting their panties in a bunch over it.

That may be the gamer voted poll, which is only worth 10% of the credit, the other 90% are from the press jury, so Ratchet isn't winning. Deathloop is favored here unfortunately.

I'd be fine if anything but RE8 The Village won.

@blaznwiipspman1: Any game releasing December such as Halo: Infinite will not make it into GOTY. So it makes sense to be in GOTY in 2022. FH5 I'll give you that but at least it'll be in best racing game category. I'm just more surprised Returnal didn't make it to GOTY.

You know what this has shown us? Microsoft titles have no impact on the gaming industry. Its always Sony that wins everything and receives the most amount of praise.

My goodness fanboys are obnoxious. The game sold over a million within a month on a single platform that was only out for a few months. You think sales just stopped completely on July 29th? Must suck being this dumb.

Yeah, they snubbed horizon and Returnal but found a way to nominate Dread. At the end of the day, this is just someone else's opinion.

I'd say they share with Nintendo from time to time. It is weird that Horizon didn't get a nomination though.

There's no way a linear 6 hour game will win goty. But to be fair I haven't gotten a PS5 yet so ignore my ignorance.

Insomniac knows how to do gunplay... while I havent played R&C, if true its fitting. This or Dread would be fine with me... the rest are all lesser.

Even though we get like 6 games nominated for game of the year normally there are like 1-2 games that stand out from the rest. This year not so much it could easily be any of the 6 games. I think ratchet and clank is easily the best game this year and 1.1 million in sales is not bad for a system that has only about 14 million out there and was even less when that last game sales number was out. Its not like its 1.1 on a system with like 50 million systems sold or something.
