Seeing this crap from Rare is starting to make me a little paranoid about the whole "motion-control" thing. I don't want to see MS and Sony go the way Nintendo had been going (at least before this E3, where they have been pretty impressive from a core gamer's standpoint), releasing a great game twice a year then being buried in shovelware that was created for the sole purpose of taking advantage of a gimmick.

Rare made Nuts & Bolts and Viva Pinata TiP just fine without them.kinect sport. holy **** rare is not crap but 20 levels below crap now.

... Where's DragonFly when you need him?:P
Btw, this is just sad. I mean seriously Microsoft.. Seriously?
Wow...that is a huge letdown...I wanted a Conker or a new Kameo or better yet an entirely new IP that actually has a STORY! I am so sad...ughhh I am seriously not into motion controls period. I hate to say it but I really feel they are at the very least weakening the portion of the industry that I so dearly enjoy.
you guys should've seen it coming.
not long after I saw the logo change I thought, the *golden* days are over for Rare,
it seemed kind of obvious that there was a rebranding in place and I thought Rare was even trying to commincate with it's fans, knowingly releasing a logo they'd crap on.

there's more than one shape with an R in it, so i'm guessing it's for different types of products.
Why do people still expect greatness from Rare? After Perfect Dark Zero, everyone should of realized that they are a bunch of clowns. MS should of outsourced that game to Bungie, lol. ODST was just a little side project and it is still 100 times better than PDZ.
If Rare didn't spend their time making stupid Viva Pinata games all generation maybe they would still be making real games today.

Those Viva Pinata games were actually good you know :|
Though I do admit that I am disappointed in Rare. Would have much rather had a KI3, Conker or a new Banjo Kazooie.

Please name a better console shooter in 2005.
geez, people here are so overdramatic and impatient. It's probably the same people that sold their Wiis after E3 08 and are buying new ones after E3 10.
All im saying is games take a long time to make especially if we want it to the quality we expect from RARE. Just sit back and wait guys, RARE will deliver. And it doesnt help that people have ridiculously high expectations. KI3, PD2, Kameo 2, Banjo 3 and Conker 3. I cant believe some people were expecting atleast 2-3 of those games to show at E3

Sorry i bought PD0 on Nov 22 2005 and i was incredibly underwhelmed at what i was playing. It was a good game, but not a 9.0 imo.

Halo 2....
Halo 2 came out in 2004...Whats your point? He wasnt asking to name a shooter out that came out that was better that came out in 2005, but a shooter that was better period.
I picked Halo 2.
Rare is among my all time developers, some of my most memorable games are from Rare, DKC2, Jet Force Gemini, Conker, etc, so i still have some faith on Rare, even if they aren't with Nintendo. I think that now, they know pretty well Kinect, and maybe the next game will be something more...appealing.

The Viva Pinata series are actually the best games Rare has made in the last 10 years tbh. I know some felt to "grown up" to try them but they really are fun and even challenging with some pretty good graphics at the time. This is a huge letdown though Kinect sports really a new Conker would have been nice or a new Kameo or a totally new IP...that ignored Kinect.
HAHA.
We see where Rare has gone :)
maverick_41
You smile about that? I suppose you think that a great developer going down is great...I certainly don't want them to be like Nintendo focusing on the casual market for the cash and never making games that interest me personally. (Of course Nintendo is so massive that they still occasionally pump out some good games, but if Rare goes down this path I don't see anything good coming of it, I hope I'm wrong though).

I tried them. They weren't my cup of tea. Planting crap and digging holes to attract animals... not my idea of fun. I was one of the rare few who actually liked PDZ. I played it online for quite a bit of time, really classic online MP. All the guns felt right, they felt balanced. There was little to no auto-aiming which was great but turned away a lot of casuals. The single player was good not the greatest.
I would have preferred Kameo 2, PDZ 2, Killer Instinct or another new IP over TWO Viva Pinata games. Why did they need TWO Viva Pinata games?!?!?! Rare went down the drain because of the choice of games they decided to make.
I'm in agreement with most of you that this isa disappointment. However, I feel like in the last two years all I've heard is that "Rare is dead! Their games are all terrible! Banjo = trash!" That kind of thing, so where is all the sudden respect for their 360 games coming from? I personally loved Kameo, and i enjoyed Banjo and Viva Pinata, and even PDZ. Where was everyonewhen those hateposts were being thrown up!?
Seriously though, I do believe it is possible that maybe they're coming out with Kinect Sports this year, and that maybe next year they've got a core game in the pipeline. I refuse to believe that this was what they've been doing for the last two years. That they have nothing else that they're working on.
rule of thumb for people... never ever ever sell hardware.. as much suckage Microsoft displayed (IMO) at E3 2010.. i will not sell it.. could be a totally different story in 2011... might need to buy a Wii now though (never owned one)...geez, people here are so overdramatic and impatient. It's probably the same people that sold their Wiis after E3 08 and are buying new ones after E3 10.

[QUOTE="Sp4rtan_3"]Only on xbox lems  Rare = JOKE.xscrapzxYou know this generation isn't over right? You do realize that they are going to do more then just kinect right? 5 years in and M$ has Rare doing avatar and Gimmick Kinect mini games ? Its safe to say rare = dead.
Clearly the most original and innovative title ever released this gen, clearly an AAAAE, new all-round graphics king, Halo-killer and foliage king. All hail the new king!
The countdown is a site redesign. The great thing though is that it seems like they will make some of their classics after all. Next year we will some some new things.
kuu2
i dont think they will make anything good next year. that what every1 wa ssaying 2 years ago then last year and now again. they will come up with kinect avatars or something like that.
