Its a demo for starters and the level and characters design is terrible, but there is some potential in the game

It looks like a 360 game and that is not an exaggeration.

Optimization usually happens during the last few months of development. This game is still in alpha stage. It still has at very least a year of development left. The demo was meant to gather user feedback in order to improve the game during the year the game has left of development.

And knowing Team Ninja it is very likely that they will fix the performance issues the game has. There was a huge difference in performance between the alpha demo of Ni-Oh and the final product.
