PS3 owners buy exclusives more than 360 owners

Now for a whilethe gaming communityhas been hearing 360 fanboys claiming that Ps3 owners/fanboys don't buy their exclusives. Mainly because when comparing games such as Killzone 2 to Halo 3 or Uncharted 2 to Gears of War there is quite a large gap in sales. But looking at the sales charts its wrong. This Data comes from Vgchartz and before anyone starts saying "Vgchartz total fail!!!!" come on! How much off do you think they can be??? These are the Top 50 selling games of each console.

So its 15-11. Now you see out of 50 games the average 360 owners buys 11 exclusives. While the average PS3 owner buys 15(this data may not be true but in the Top 50 sold games for both consoles the ps3 has more sold games than the 360)Although the PS3 exclusives may not have sold as well as Halo 3, ODST, GEOW 1 and GEOW2 it still shows that PS3 owners are generally buying MORE exclusiveS than 360 owners. So basically 360 owners buy moreOF an exclusive e.g Halo and Gears of War. But PS3 owners buy more exclusiveS.

Another Thing interesting i found about this data is also the amount of variety PS3 owners are buying compared to 360 owners. There are EIGHT diffrent genres in the top exclusives sold for the PS3. FPS, TPS, PLatformer(LBP, RAC), Racer(GT5p, Motorstorm), Hack andSlash(GOW3, GOW:C, Heavenly Sword), Sandbox(inFAMOUS),Interactive Drama(Heavy Rain) and Stealth Action(MGS4)compared to justFOUR for the 360. FPS(Halo 3,ODST, L4d, L4d2), TPS(GEOW, GEOW2), racer(FM2, FM3, PGR4) and RPG/WRPG(Fable ii, ME1).

But o wait. I hear lemmings crying about God of War: Collection. "It's on the PS2!!!1"Fine i'll take it out so now its 14-11 we're still winning but... Gears of War is on the PC, same with Left 4 Dead, Left 4 Dead 2 and Mass Effect. So now its 14-7... And with a few arguments i've been having with a few 360 fanboys they seem to like to say ODST is not a game but an expansion(Why? to argue against the fact that ODST sold less than double the amount of Halo 3). So to them it will probably be 14-6 :o.

So the final Top selling exclusives in the top 50 is now...

I don't think I've ever seen a 360 fan claim they buy more exclusives than Playstation users.

I've seen them say they buy more games which is true as the 360 holds the highest attach rate of any current gen console.

LOL the first list has multi-plats in it.and no i removed them because of i had been in arguments where 360 fans said GOW:C didn't count as an exclusive, so i took it out. just like you used the first list to better your argument that the 360 games had sold more than the ps3 games.

My thoughts are that this thread is yet more evidence of how ridiculous the obsessive focus is on exclusives in SWs.

I'm not sure what those number prove, though.

That PS3 exclusives sell better? No, there are more, but they don't sell better. (Besides, the list does not include every exclusive).

No, since the combinated sales of multiplats that are not on the PS3 and exclusives are 8M bigger than the PS3's.

you do know the attach rates for both PS3/360 owners is only in the high 8s? this doesn't make any sense.

How much off do I think they can be? How about up to %200 on a monthly basis like they were in June? Or completely off because they are known to make up numbers based on zero data.

yea attach rate is based off of total sales multi-plats AND exclusives. so this makes perfect sense. and i don't know the full data i was basing this off the top 50 most sold games. ok but there your talking about MULTI-PLATS i'm talking about EXCLUSIVES. wow its a shame people can't read the THREAD. we already know 360 MULTI-PLATS generally sell better. but i'm trying to show that this lemms argument is false. ps3 has more top selling exclusiveS while 360 has more sales OF an exclusive. but it seems that on gamespot no one can understand your point. even after you reiterated yourself.

In short, the list is inaccurate

With Sony's 1st party they should.

Microsofts 1st party has been basically Euthanized.

All these games are below 1.80 million of Mass effect 2, that is not even in 360 list
