Huh, I could of sworn I was just playing Modern Warfare 2 with friends, must have been my imagination.

I know this is true for me. If im playing online im playing my Xbox. If im doing a singleplayer game i usually get it on my PS3.Yesterday I was helping my friend move into his new apartment. He has 2 roommates and the very weird one (who he met through work) sure enough pulled out his PS3 while unpacking. As I was browsing through his library of games and simply watching the awkward mannerisms of him, it hit me. The PS3 is really desgined for people who game alone. MGS, Uncharted, Infamous, hes buying GOW3.... I asked him does your current lack of interent effect you (he owns MW2). He goes nah I dont play online. He also only owns .... 1 controller.
Halo, Gears of War, every single multiplat game designed for online/multiplayer is better received (sales) on X360. You simply will not find a 360 owner who only ones 1 controller and does not play on Live, as its very geared towards social play (with friends or family)
I think it is safe to consider the X360 the social console and the PS3 the personal console.

The 360 focuses more on online play, and why shouldn't it? you have to pay for it. But that by no means results in the PS3 being a console for loners.
idontbeliveit
This.
I mean you can't really be a loner if your paying to be social.:P I mean I can chat and go on Facebook for FREE on my PC at any time.:P
Also most of the PS3's best games are mostly compressed of single player experiences being the main focus so obviously that's where the gamers attention goes to.

1. I know 7 people who have a 360 and don't play online with it. 8 if you consider me...I have a 360 and only use it for SP games like Mass Effect 2. 2.Your statement is completely ignorant, most of my friends have ps3s and they are very social people. Also, i know more people who don't have online for 360 than people who don't have online for PS3. 3. Nice job basing your whole (ridiculous) idea on one guyDidn't you know? Bragging how social you are is the cool thing to do.Another thing to consider, who actually buys a video game console based off of how social it is? If I wanted to be as social as possible I probably wouldn't spend my time playing games

Ah, my mistake! Proof right there! Wait...if someone owns all consoles, what does that make that person? I sense a paradox! That explains MAG. And KZ2. And Resistance. And even multiplats that sell extremely well. (Call of Duty)
I agree that PS3 is more geared toward single player and 360 is more geared toward online. That being said, I don't think you can make a conclusion about anyone by the system they own. For instance, I've owned all three consoles this gen and still have PS360. So.... Also I know a bunch of PS3 only gamers who are MW2 pheens.
ok so you basicly saying 1 person is the same with other 8million people  :| i have 3 controllers and play online on my ps3 alot same with my friends who have ps3's most of them dont play there 360s online because they dont want to pay and some barely even touch it
i guess you can also make the arguement that 360 players only play with "online" friends, while ps3 players play single player games when they aren't out in social environments face to face instead of only hearing someones voice through a headset. how bout that. this thread is retarded.
Game set match my friend :)Good job using one individual to represent millions of gamers. Its weird because I have a PS3 and the only time I play alone is when I am playing a SP game
BPoole96
I own a 360. I don't play on Live (LOL at paying twice for your own bandwith for peer to peer gaming). You are wrong. Good night. You simply will not find a 360 owner who only ones 1 controller and does not play on Live

I notice that my friends who own 360's are cheap and poor. Does that mean that all people who own 360s are cheap and poor? no. I own both, buy most multiplats on the ps3, and play online almost exclusively.I kinda agree with the TC. Also many of the most popular PS3 games have single player focused gameplay whereas most of the big 360 games have MP focused gameplay. This can be the same for almost all of the PS3 games (UC2 and MGS4 have MP, but they aren't nearly as good as the SP campaigns).lhugheyA multi-console owner who agrees with me. But its way more fun and easy to disagree so I dont blame the other. Deep down they know its true. And seriously if anyone bought UC2 or MGS for their multiplayer, theyre seriously misinformed

PlayStation has never been the "social" console.
32-bit days the N64 was the "social" console with Smash Bros, Goldeneye, Star Fox, Perfect Dark, etc. etc.
Last gen the Xbox was the "social" console with Halo mainly, and GameCube had Smash Bros. Heck the Ps2 only had TWO controller ports which basically meant Sony admitted their console isn't social.

And seriously if anyone bought UC2 or MGS for their multiplayer, theyre seriously misinformed MGS4 allows actual servers and supports some serious players. As far as Uncharted 2, its very similar to Gears of War online, so given your emblem, not sure of your point. but i never really understand single console owners most the times anyways. I would say that video games can only be so social. someone who is saying that one video game system is more social than another video game system really needs to go play some football or set up a poker game or hit a bar. and someone who spends their free time setting up troll topics and bragging about posts on a video game forum, well, they are beyond social repair...
Yeah well I know this one kid at school who has no friends and he only has a 360. Back to the drawing board TC.
WhenI want my alone time I game. When I want my social time i go out and do real things in the real world with people i actually know. If anything xbox users are the loners having to get their social fix over a video game with people they dont know.
Thats funny, because the only way I socialize with a few of my high school friends these days besides MSN and hanging out during day offs of school is through playing uncharted 2.
Nothing like a ton of lag on any X360 online game to get people to socialize... By the way, MGS4 and Uncharted 2 have online... but no lag =/ maybe thats why they aren't has social...(...)every single multiplat game designed for online/multiplayer is better received (sales) on X360.(...)

Why is the TC getting bashed so much? He's right about many PS3 owners that I find. I got about 20 good friends that I play LIVE with, while I got like 3 friends who got the PS3 and can't play with us. They always brag about the PS3's graphics being SO MUCH better and I just LOL.-RocBoys9489-mhmm cuz 3 people = 30 million poeple
You're just as bad as TC.
