I'm so happy to see PC gamers embracing Nioh. It is its own game, pretty different from Dark Souls in that it misses some of Dark Soul's essential components (connected open world/lore)... BUT (big butt) the combat is so much better, imo.

The combat is awesome. There's so much shit, I still haven't mastered my weapons. And I've barely even begun to spend Ninja or Omnyo points and I'm level 70. I think I only have backstab and more arrows from the Ninja tree, and zero stuff from the Omnyo. Doesn't feel like I really need that stuff..
And I kinda like that Nioh is more stages rather than a big world. When you don't feel like playing a big main quest, you can instead play a smaller sub mission. It makes it easier to play just a little bit if you wanna. Graphics are great, and the difficulty has been just right I think. I'm always about two levels under the mission I'm at and it feels tough but fair.
This is getting tiresome..... Now I remember one reason why I set the game aside during an earlier playthrough.
I finally killed the pyrogeist at Lab X18 with my last shotgun shell. ;)
That foray into Lab X18 also depleted all the 5.56mm ammo I stockpiled. Geeez. That was a lot.
Just battled a big Yokai in this place who kills you with 1 hit and has a shitload of HP. It's not easy to take a screenshot during a battle, so sorry bout not showing the Yokai. But the place is cool..
Took constant focus, but managed to bring him down. The NPC guy standing there helped me a little bit during the fight (before he got beaten down by the Yokai, which didn't take long).
Finished second walkthrough of The Phantom Pain. Installing Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor- Game of the year Edition (All contents included).
I'm not fond of escort missions. Babysitting isn't one of my better gaming traits.
Put my character on the bullseye, clear a path, wait for the wimp to waddle in. ;)

Is that Deadly Soldier from 1997? I remember playing that game when I was a child.

Never heard of Deadly Soldier. Post a link because I can't seem to find it. But, I'm actually playing STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl.
Graphics sucks. But, the gameplay is addictive although my favorite is Call of Pripyat out of the three in the series.
And no. Game graphics were worse than this back in 1997. Speaking of Call of Pripyat, more night action.
Nearing the end of Lab X16. I didn't want to leave behind the TRs-301 But, ammo was running low and it was starting to jam.
Shadow of Mordor- GOTY Edition (High Settings). Highest AO, Tesselation- FXAA + Per object motion blur- 60fps.
There has to be a better way between Rostok and Yantar. The current route is infested with respawning mercs, bandits, and mutants. It's a big expenditure on ammo.
Hmmm. Some mercs raided Rostok and killed this Duty guy. Oh well. At least, I don't have to hear him say:
Get out of here, stalker.
Get out of here, stalker.
Get out of here, stalker.
Get out of here, stalker.
Get out of here, stalker.
@br0kenrabbit: wanting to pick up KSP but it never seems to drop that much in sales.
It is well worth the full price of entry. It's one of those "just let me do this one more thing...damn the sun is up" games.
The next time Sniper complains about pointless repetitive missions in open-world games, he should look at the pointless repetitive missions in linear games like Shadow of Chernobyl. It's even worse in SoC because once the player got done with the task, it had to report back to whoever assigned the mission who is located at some other map. In the meantime, the game respawns bad guys or cheats outright to impede the player on the route back.
For the nth time...... Right when I was about to cross into Yantar, this mission assigned by the 100 Rads Bar Keeper appeared.
Anyway, the nights are always cool even though the sky in Absolute Nature doesn't match.
Besieged by Snorks (among other things) at Wild Territories. I think there are also a bunch of mutts, pseudomutts, rats, and a bloodsucker or two nearby.
Bayonetta 2 and L.A. Noire on Switch. First time playing L.A Noire and I'm digging it. Bayonetta 2 is even better than I remember, just fantastic.
Shadow of Chernobyl.
I had no idea I can repair suits via electro anomalies if I had at least 4 batteries. Good thing the nephew called and asked what I was playing earlier.
It works. Cool.
Now, I wish I kept my (expensive) exoskeleton that took a beating.
Metal Gear Solid 2. Installed fan made patch. Adds real time shadows, reflections and MSAA. Also refines controls.
Wild Territory seems to be the main area for making money in Shadow of Chernobyl because the map is full of respawning cannon fodder. So that's where I am. Gotta build up and upgrade before making the run through Red Forest.
Oh well. At least, I'm past where I left off in my previous playthrough (got bored).
While STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl is an okay game, it has too many little annoyances that add up (compared to Call of Pripyat). CoP feels much more refined in comparison.
I had to fire up CoP because the same exact old side mission routine in ShoC was getting tiresome. At least, in CoP, I'm free to choose how to earn my moolah.
I can also go HUD-less in CoP.
Well, crap. I managed to get myself mired in the Red Forest. I was slugging it out with Monoliths on the road to the Brain Scorcher area. Then I decided to take the forest itself and got myself lost. I should have noticed I was over halfway through to the destination and stuck with the road instead.
At least I found a second Vintar BC. I'll need a new one before the mission is over. If I do replay the mission, I'll remember to bring AP ammo and wear the enhanced scientist suit.
Redid the Brain Scorcher mission with with the enhanced scientist suit and AP ammo. All that trouble to pull back that switch and then fight my way out of the place.
I brought over 700 9x39 mm rounds of all types (plus 5.56 mm AP) and I was still forced to scrounge for 5.56 mm from the dead guys. They had plenty of it though.
Exploring Pripyat in Shadow of Chernobyl.
On the separate playthrough on my laptop, I'm still exploring Army Warehouses.
Well, crap (again). There should be a warning about crossing into NPP. It's a point of no return.
Luckily, I saved beforehand.
The Protect the Border side missions in Army Warehouses are some of the worst side missions I ever played. No live mutants in sight. I wiped out every non-human target in the map....and, nothing. Still not complete. So now, it's a fricking waiting game for the real targets to show up, which could take hours.
