Pokemon X and Y will be 1.7GB each, making them the largest Pokemon games till date.
But, and here's the kicker, they're the largest Pokemon games till date by a HEFTY margin.
- Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow were all 512 KB (yes, Kilobytes. Half a Megabyte).
- Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal were all 1024 KB (or 1 MB).
- Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire were both 16 MB.
- Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen and Pokemon Emerald were 32 MB.
- Pokemon Diamond/Pearl were 64 MB.
- Pokemon Platinum, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and Black/White were 128 MB.
- Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 were 512 MB.
Given all this, what does X and Y's file size mean? Are they that big simply because of the new 3D graphics and orchestrated sounds for 700+ Pokemon, or are we looking at a game that will let us revisit one or more of the older regions? Maybe Hoenn?
