It makes sense to delay a game that needs half its audience to buy it in stores that happen to be closed.

It also makes sense to delay a promotional event that would be incredibly inappropriate if it happened during a certain time period.

Good move IMO.

There was a fair amount of people on twitter asking them to postpone the event due to whats going on right now in the U.S. Disappointing, but understandable at the same time, better to wait until all the riots die down.

Let's face it, the reveal would be totally overlooked with what's happening during the media crisis. Don't waste a reveal if no one's paying attention and its totally not the right time/place anyway.

I live in Atlanta GA and too many riots are still going on after what happen on last Friday.

And as a real-life company, your best option is to "read the room" and know discretion is the better part of valor. People's attention is elsewhere; holding an event on Thursday for a video game console would be as dumb as Sega surprise-launching the Saturn in the west.

Most companies and media businesses are left wing. Get over it, things are only going to get more left as time goes on.

Not to mention that they might also have employees directly or indirectly impacted by current events. It's a good move. I'm sure the same people mad at this are the same ones complaining about wearing masks in public.

This is a serious issue that is important, no matter who you are. Sony is doing a good move, and are even going to match donations. This is not a left or right issue, it's a basic decency issue.

Very true about the employees possibly being affected, and I apologize for looking at the "macro" picture first before mentioning the people.

I get that it's just a game system but it would have been nice to have something to look forward too. Now it's just watching the world burn. Oh well.

Plus with looting being a problem right now and Sony products at risk when people are breaking into places like Target, I think it's the best move Sony can do right now, both of company integrity but also to protect their own products.

It should be in the interest of other consumer companies to not be insensitive right now.

It is certainly a move to maintain company integrity, both internally and externally, but the products are not really important to them. Once a product is in shelves, the store has already paid for them. If a Sony TV or game system is destroyed in the riots, it is the store that is losing money, not Sony.

Matching donations to far left organizations that constantly race bait? Yes this is a political issue. People die every day in horrific ways. Somehow I only hear about it if it's a white person killing a black person.

@Willy105: Either way, it leads to protecting their image and assets they've sold across the market. Stores already paid their stocks sure, but Sony has the responsibility to maintain their image right now with company integrity and it can help prevent looting as it's been shown happening.

If a company came off insensitive right now that can aggravate people. It was the best move for Sony and other companies should take note.

Don't confuse yourself with the average person. This is the biggest news story on the country. You'd have to be bubbled in with very specific feeds and news sources to think the way you do.

People do die everyday, but dying in that specific way? A way that demonstrates a really troubling and important issue that has been happening for over a century? This is not your every day death and funeral. It's the same reason Microsoft pulled Flight Simulator from shelves after 9/11.

omg when xbox shows the series s at 4 teraflops 2 less than xbox one x but no one understand teraflops are not the power of your system or total power of a gpu. one teraflop in the ps4 is not the same 1 teraflop in the ps5 because there is more to a gpu than just teraflops.

ask pc gamers that buy updated gpu and relize just because one gpu has more teraflops does not make more effective than another gpu that has less teraflop runs better because there is more to a gpu than just teraflops.
