My fondest memory is wishing I had one(never did) when M$ was trying to shove kinect crap down my throat at the end of last gen. Incidentally, PS4 is my favorite console now. Mission accomplished Sony.
My favorite ps3 memory was putting it back in the box 10 mins and looking at the grill plastic super slim that just looked so ugly now I research before i buy sony systems to make sure its not some grilled plastic super slim
time to put the old timer out to pasture i suppose.
i dont have many fond memories of the PS3 to be honest. from a design point of view it was interesting but also very badly flawed. sonys hardware engineers were barking up the wrong tree and it clearly showed last gen. a lot of stuff that comes to mind is the bad stuff. the E3 reveal and disasterous launch and so on.
games wise: wipeout was great. killzone 2 was solid. ni no kuni was nice. GT6 (after 8 hours of patching!!) was solid. but when i try to think of outstanding PS3 games not much grabs my attention. the likes of uncharted and heavy rain just dont appeal to me at all and these are considered the PS3s big guns. it had all the multiplats sure but i get those for the PC so i dont really have many PS3 games and i dont really have any on my wish list.
I remember buying the ps3 because my cousin who had one left my house after staying there for several months. First i did was downloading the demo of mirror's edge and that made run to blockbuster and rent it. One of my favorite game of all time.
