Phil Spencer excited about idea of classic Halo experience coming to PC

We already know about Halo 6 coming to PC but it sounds like the Disaster Master Chief Collection may be coming as well.

This is good news for PC gamers who are not interested in purchasing an Xbox but want to play the game. Awesome.

well hopefully they do some work, I remember trying that Halo 5 Forge multiplayer release on W10 and it felt bad

as a PC only gamer I can tell its likely not possible for me to care less about Halo 6 or classic coming to the PC, but hey I am glad he understanding PC gaming so well.

I have other games I am more interested in that are already on the PC

It's 2018, isn't time for a new franchise for Xbox? It's been forza Halo gears for over 10 years now.

It doesn't sound like the MCC is coming to the PC. 343i is trying to fix the Xbox version and X1X enhanced patch. MS should make Halo exclusive to Xbox Consoles.

it just seems like while they are dealing with Halo, PC gamers are busy with Ark, Rust, Subnautica, 7 days to die, The Forest, Space Engineers, Medieval Engineers, Empyrion and so many others to really have time to be concerned with old games

just seems completely out of touch

Classic Halo (Halo 1+2) released on PC the same time they released on XBOX so it wouldnt be anything we dont already have officially beside Halo3 which is really the only other one that can pass as a classic by now. I know they were forgettable Phil, so ill let you off for forgetting about your games, even though there arent that many of them to remember really.

Isn't this about Halo Online? If I remember correctly, it was a game in Russia.

So you have PC gamers like me who could not remotely care less about something like Halo and then you have PC gamers who do. Well the PC gamers who do, likely already own a console and likely already have that game.

If a recovering addict spends 30 years trying to help other addicts recover and they all never put a clean and sober life together, it's still a positive thing. It's the intent, not the numbers that is the positive.

let me use a conversation as an example

you: 'that will make it broadly available that is a good thing'

me: 'but zero people that it would become newly available to want it'

You can have a long running franchise, but when you don't have ANY NEW ONE, then something's wrong.

The thing is... MS is really dumb.

Gamepass is a really bad move that makes the game lose market value and developers getting less revenue from games and makes MS lower their budgets for games.

MS could make games exclusive to Xbox store or something like that on PC and on console without game pass. A missed opportunity.

Just because you don't care, does not mean zero people care about it. I'm sure MS has done their research before bringing it to PC also.

I'm really interested in this. I loved Halo 1+2 back in the day. I'd absolutely play those again on my PC

my POINT though is that nobody does want it that they are trying to bring it to.

MCC Co-op is one of the most enjoyable experiences I've ever had, and I plan to replay all the campaigns X-Enhanced when that time comes.

There is consistent demand on PC for this hot series, so I Can understand Phil's response, as long as they don't interfere with Xbox console plans, I don't see the issue with this.

Again it is the intent of making games broadly available that is the positive. Whether anyone takes them up on it or not doesn't remove the good intent of more avenues to play a given game.

You seem to be trying to come from a bottom line, corporate view point in this. I don't work for any of these corporations. I merely think games being accessible to as broad an audience as possible is a good thing. How is it a negative thing? Because every PC gamer is like you in your mind?

so as I see it the PC gamers like me (which does not represent all people and does not just represent me but represents a LOT of PC gamers if not MOST PC only gamers) do not care about that game and if they did, they would already have the game.

MS seems to think PC gamers are sitting around just wishing they could play Halo and that is not the case, if they wanted to play Halo they would already have a console and have that game.
