Just Cause 2 is awesome. Comparing it to shit like Skyrim is an insult.

JC2 has the most boring world ever when you really look at it. But thank god it's fun
Skyrim is a big old expanse of nothing but it sure does look pretty when you mod it up and I like just walking around looking at shit. But it's the worst kind of open world game
I wouldn't give too much credit to RDR, it's fairly open and empty and repetitive. But it does have good NPCs for the most part.
Dark Souls is the fvcking king though. Massive world that still feels intimate and connected filled with secrets and explorable areas not taking itself too seriously and getting bogged down in narrative and ushering the player along. It's head and shoulders above the others
JC2 was a big copy and paste job. Panau city was awful, at least Skyrim had diversity between cities. RR360DD
City diversity means nothing if all your NPCs sound and act the same from town to town. Not to mention give you similar shitty missions
Fuel's world is f*cking huge.freedomfreakYet nothing to do than just driving around like a lunatic, I literally bought the game just for it's scale.
[QUOTE="freedomfreak"]Fuel's world is f*cking huge.faizan_faizanYet nothing to do than just driving around like a lunatic, I literally bought the game just for it's scale. Yeah, same here. I was interested in how big it was, and it blew me away.
Absolutely loved playing/exploring RDR for the first time and was blown away :D Second time, eh, not as much. Quit Skyrim at about level 8 since I felt I've been there done that already with Oblivion.
Edit: Oh and had some great fun in Crackdown exploring, orb hunting and climbing/ jumping around everything including the highest buildings then jumping off.
RDR's world is no more diverse than skyrim. Half of it is desert then you have the little bit of green on the side.
Played through Skyrim twice and never became bored with it. Same with Just Cause 2. Tons of stuff to do in both games while wondering around.
I had to force myself to finish RDR because all I heard was how great the ending was. It seemed like it was the same 5 missions over and over with just a minor change here and there.
A friend of mine pirated Skyrim and played the heck out of it. I bought it for full price and disliked it so much, it's fair to claim that I bought it for him.

What a dumb thing to do.
Fuk what you heard, Skyrim is AWESOME. BUT- I can understand why people don't like it...I really enjoyed the world and all of it's mysteries, I got a blast out of just exploring, I still haven't finished it yet and I don't know if I ever will, but I like going there every now and then.
Like most Bethesda games if you aren't into modding them then you are missing out. All of the extra content keeps the game fresh imo.
It's cool to hate high rated games. It's just a rule of thumb.Fuk what you heard, Skyrim is AWESOME. All those games where great apart from JC2Jack-BurtonYou could play everything offered in JC2 from its free demo.

So people get overwhelmed by the huge play area and that leads to boredom..Fuk what you heard, Skyrim is AWESOME. I would love to see a Mass Effect type Sci Fi game done in a world that large.

I hate it for very valid reasons
The biggest one being that it has the most trivialised open world around
Loved Skyrim, but like most Bethesda open world games it was glitchy as hell and the story didn't drive me to finish. I played for well over 100 hours (doing side quests and such) but still don't know what happens to the Dovahkiin.HadOne2ManyWell said. Keeping out glitches and story have always been the weakest points of The Elder Scrolls, but those two aside, you can have great fun with the rest of the game.

If diverse you mean you either had cities with all wood houses and cities where you had all stone then I guess so yeah.
The fact still remains though all the NPCs in all of the cities, said the same things, acted and looked just like the ones from other cities. They had like 8 voice actors for the thousand NPCs in the game as well which didnt help. So all skyrim did was copy/paste its NPC's.
4/5 of skyrim was all snow and mountains. It was exciting to find something green in that game, it got old quick. So the majority of skyrim was a copy/paste of like 3 tile sets.
The dungeons were even worse, sure a couple stood out but 95% of them were a copy/paste tileset. Hell most of the side dungeons were the exact same thing.

there are mods for that, I agree vanilla skyrim is lame. However, Skyrim's prime asset is that it's engine is designed for modding. It's like hating on a tuner car for sucking when it hasn't been modded and saying all other cars of that model suck.Skyrim would have been better if it actually had more interesting quest and NPCs it just felt like a chore doing them hoping it gets better but it just flats stays the same mostly

Yeah I just meant the look and design of the different cities. I haven't really played enough of Skyrim but I loved Oblivion. Only copy and paste part about Oblivion was the dungeons.
Also I think TC should've listed Liberty city from GTAIV instead of RDR. Its the great world ever created in a game.
