Official: XboxOne 100,000 Consoles in China (SOLD) $100BN/MN

This is a thread about the official Xbox One sales figures in China which were 100,000 sold to consumers and have made a large value from spending customers as well the same day. Without using direct converstion, the $100 Billion value mentioned in the chinese articles is most likely roughly equal to an actual $100-$500 at max million USD. Keep in mind that 100,000 is translated to 10 million units in china, but it's not the same value.

Still that is a lot of money.

Summary:

Xbox One sold 100,000 To consumers equaling a value of what the source claim $100Billion in sales. Due to this surprise acceptance of consoles after the ban, they expect the market to be around 10x or more in as much in about only 5 years.

They expect in 10 years that consoles will be a trillion dollar industry in terms of bringing in value. To be honest they seem to be jumping the gun a little bit here but we'll see what happens.

They are also expecting about 10 more big domestic game developers soon as well, including Tencent who along with others, were hesitant. (first source)

Well, it's better than All the tier 2 launches. It's better than haldfthe Tier 1 launches. Also even in china, this was not expected. I bet even you were not expecting numbers like this in the chinese market due to PC and Mobile.

This interest being surprising, although i do think they are jumping a bit to far, I can understand why they are expecting million or so by the end of the year and in 5 years bringing in something around hundreds more billions in sales and trillions in 10/ Assuming that the trends keep going for 10 years.

Of course, MS and Sony/Nin (Which i assume will still have to sale through an improved amount before being able to sell more) will have to get through their improved shipments first. if MS for example sales 3 million in some time, they may approve more to sell. More companies like Tencent will jump on, and we may be getting internationally released Chinese games as well.

Sold to retail or sold to customer? If they actually sold 100k to individuals in 1 day, i might have to rethink my stance on consoles not selling well in China.

Wouldn't this be not that great considering US alone sold 1million in 24 hours and China's population is double that of the US and yea I'm considering poorer people but but 100,000 isn't all that special really

Seriously man think for a second, 100,000 In a new market already bringing in 100's of millions in USD with people who were hesitant thinking of jumping in and people are already expecting massive growth (maybe too much expected massive growth) based on the current trends.

I literally just explained to you how this works and you are still talking about billions in USD. Again, sales in china, and not even just their, other asian countries will say 10 million, but something 10 million is often 100,000, same as 20 million for 200,000, because this sigh "10万台" is translated as such.

$100 million is the basic translation from $100BN in Chinese currency, it's just how it's interpreted in english, but has a different meaning over there. Many sites will see "10万台" as 10 million when it's actually 100,000.

Out of that many people in China not really impressive I honestly wonder what game they bought for it or did they buy any at all lol

A lot of people were playing Forza and Neverwinter in some pics so maybe those. Kinect Sports Rivals was also a big thing, but since more Kinect bundles were pre-ordered than Kinectless that doesn't surprise me. But of course, at the moment that's the only Kinect game (assumng they included Digital games on the list otherwise Dance Central and D4 are open.)

Not sure what this means but 100,000 brought something so I guess we will see by the end of this week or next week if this is a sign of more potential buyers or just launch luck.

I'm sure it ws over 100K, but they just rounded the number off. Sunning retail was already estimating 70K sold on day one and that didn't even include the other 4 large retailers. Yes, it says it was 100K sold to consumers. Not shipped to retailers. We'll see what the week sales turn out to be. I estimated 150 - 200K for it's first week.

I am sure it wasn't over 100k MS love to hype shipped numbers as sold which they did since day 1 when they claim 1 million in 24 hours when many store still had units to sell.

No they aren't the value includes spending. This source is from an actual official business who has actual shipments numbers and is basically the forbes of china except they are tied to businesses and get more information.

This is really good especially considering that most of the best xbone games aren't approved for sale by China's government. No Cod, BF 4, Dead Rising 3 or Titanfall.

Wow. Considering how expensive the Xbox One is over there, I'm incredibly impressed. Not bad, Microsoft. I think bringing it to China was a smart idea.

There was a ban on consoles for 14 years dominated by phones and F2P PC games, with other ventures into consoles (Like Nintendo Ique and N-gage0 failing miserably. In 1 day they sell 100k, with a high price, and make over $100 million. That's one day. So I would wait till the end of the week before we say that's it.
